Copdock Weekly Update 17/11/2023

Information to Share

Children in Need - thank you for your donations for our dress down today - we have raised £75 for Children in Need!

Playground at Drop Off - as we have now introduced the daily mile in the mornings, could we please ask parents to say goodbye to their children at the gate and not to wait on the playground.  This will ensure there is plenty of space for the runners and hopefully a smooth transition into class.  Can we also ask parents not to wait at the bottom of the ramp blocking the pathway for those coming in.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Christmas - next week we will give you details of the upcoming events for Christmas including performances, dinner and so on, as a teaser, KS1 will be performing on Tuesday 12th and KS2 on Wednesday 13th.

Flu Vaccinations - don't forget to complete the form sent previously to confirm or decline permission for the flu vaccinations coming up at the end of the month.  Please note this is dealt with by the school nursing team, not the school admin team.

School Photos - the photographs taken last week are now available online for you to order.  To qualify for free delivery to school you MUST place your order by 26th November - this deadline is set by the photographers, not by the school.

Parent and Carer Workshops - Please do consider attending these sessions on Emotional Wellbeing and Childhood Neurodiversity if you can as they cover a range of themes on anxiety, challenging behaviour, managing big feelings.  Family wellbeing - information to support your child or young person's wellbeing - Suffolk County Council

Please be aware:
We have spoken to the children in Foxes class this week about behaviour as part of on line gaming.  It has been bought to our attention that some children are swearing during these games and making age inappropriate comments.
As part of our PSHE, online safety and anti bullying lessons we discuss why this is not appropriate, but it is still happening.  Please could adults reinforce the message about sensible online behaviour and what to do if they hear others swearing or acting inappropriately whilst online.

REMINDERS!!!!

Foxes need packed lunches on Mondays if they are attending guitar, KS2 children need packed lunches (& dry socks) on Tuesdays if they are participating in Football club!  If you have football boots, you can bring them along, but trainers will suffice if not.

Please ensure you have booked your parent consultation by Monday when slots will close!

Children need a coat with them every day - please ensure they have their name in it and on their jumpers/cardigans/fleeces - especially those used for PE!

Don't forget to check out our website for information on events happening soon including holiday clubs, sporting sessions and more!

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
