Copdock Weekly Update 16/10/2020

Tuesday's Dinner

Unfortunately our caterers have been unable to get hold of noodles for Tuesday's lunch.  Instead they will be offering steamed rice with the oriental meatballs.  Please ensure your child is aware of this if they are having hot dinner on that day.  Please also check that you have the latest menu at home as it did change early on in the term.  The correct one is on the website here

Travel Disruption

We have been notified that Swan Hill is to be closed from 9:30am on Monday 19th October until 23:59pm on Tuesday 20th.  We appreciate this may impact on your journey to/from school, hence we are letting you know so that you can plan ahead and look for an alternative over the weekend.

Football

As we had to call off the football club this week for KS2, that session will run next Tuesday - this will be the final session of this half term.

Woodpeckers PE Thursday

As the children are coming in costumes next Friday, Woodpeckers will have their PE session on Thursday.  Please can Woodpeckers come into school on Thursday in PE kit, and Hallowe'en themed costume on Friday!

Break the Rules

Don't forget to send your pennies in by next Wednesday to be able to break the uniform rules next Friday!  For an additional 50p a sweet treat for Halloween is also available.  Please check posters or last week's news for guidance on which rules can be broken, and suggestions on how to do it!

Bonfire Menu

Our caterers are offering a special menu for Bonfire Night on the first Thursday after half term.  We would need to give them an idea of numbers so that they can place their orders before half term.  The cost will be the same as usual for KS2 children.  Can you please email into the office to let us know if your child would like to participate.  The menu is attached to the weekly news and also on the board as you head up the steps to the playground.  Please let us know by Wednesday even if your child is in KS1, we need to know numbers.

Remote Learning Policy

Governors have recently agreed our Remote Learning Policy which is available on the website.  Please ensure you have a look, this may become relevant if a local or national lockdown is announced, or if your child is required to isolate.

Governor News

We will be looking to recruit a parent governor in the new half term so please give this some thought if you might consider joining our team.  Since lockdown we have a few new faces that can be seen on the website here. We have recently welcomed Mrs Diane Hance, Mr Peter Drew and Mrs Jane Day.

Half Term Activities

Where possible we put information about holiday clubs and activities on our website:  School Information>Local Clubs & Events.  Sometimes, however, we are sent a link and asked to share it with you.  Please find the digital link to Raring2go! Autumn/Winter Magazine: https://magazines.raring2go.co.uk/ipswichandfelixstowe/autumn/  The magazine is full of ideas for the half term holidays, featuring holiday camps, days outs and Autumn activities.
