Copdock Weekly Update 16/06/2023

Ofsted at Copdock

The Governors are delighted to share the outcome of the inspection at Copdock Primary, as it celebrates the expertise of staff who work in both schools across the Federation.  Mrs North and Mrs Robinson both contribute to the leadership of the curriculum and SEND in both schools, and this highlights the significant strength of our partnership work.  It is great to see the impact of teachers from Bentley and Copdock recognised as a highly effective and committed team.  The full report can be accessed here with the parent letter.

Talent Show Update

We have now allocated our slots for the talent show on Friday 7th July.  All children have been told if they will be appearing on stage.  The door will open from 12.40 to allow you to be seated before a 12.55pm start.  We have a limited number of seats for the audience (150), so we are asking you to book your tickets via the website.  You should have received a notification in your parent log in area by 4pm today.  Tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis.  A maximum of 2 tickets will be available per family but please only order 2 tickets if you will be using both of them.  Younger children can sit on parent's knees so do not need a ticket.  If the website will not allow you to order a ticket they may have run out.  Please phone the school.
If you wish to order an ice lolly there is an option to order one, payment of £1 each to be completed at the same time please via the website/app.
Please note, school children will all receive an ice-pop on the day paid for by school.
We aim to finish for 3.30pm so if not attending please collect children from the village hall.

NEXT WEEK

Sports Day

Our annual sports afternoon takes place on Monday.  Families are invited to join participants for a picnic on the field from 12 noon.  If you have not pre-ordered the 'Feast on the Field' please ensure you send a packed lunch for your child.  The activities will start at 1pm promptly.  Please see the email sent last week for details of team colours.  Children will also need a hat and plenty of water.  We look forward to sharing the day with you.

Squirrels Trip

Children in Squirrels class will be joining the Year 2s from Bentley for a trip to Colchester Synagogue on Wednesday.  Please ensure all forms have been returned and payment made prior to the visit - ideally by Monday 20th.  Children should attend school at the usual times wearing school uniform and school shoes.  Please see the email containing the letter sent via the school website last week for further information.

Fundraising

Don't forget to return your stubs & monies for the Summer Fayre's raffle.  These can be returned to the office.  Any unused books can also be returned.  Should you require more books please let the office or a member of the PTA know.  It's not too late to offer to help on the day - just speak to a PTA member or email them on [email protected].

Willow in year 2 is taking part in the Pretty Muddy Kids 2023 obstacle run on Sunday to raise money for Cancer Research UK.  We hope she really enjoys getting soggy and muddy - all in a good cause.  If you would like to show your support please see her JustGiving page here.

Year 4 Sleepover

On May 5th's newsletter parents were notified of the planned year 4 sleepover and asked to confirm if their child would be attending.  The deadline to confirm attendance is Friday 23rd June - please ensure you let us know so that we can arrange all the risk assessments and so on.  The sleepover is scheduled for Friday 14th July with pick up by 9:30am on the Saturday morning.  Further information will be sent out once numbers are confirmed.

Don't forget we update the website every week with news about clubs and holiday activities - keep checking back.
