Copdock Weekly Update 15/03/2024

Information to Share

Please note, as per the schedule, there is no sharing assembly this afternoon.

PGL Trip - please note that the second installment for PGL payments was due at the end of February, the 3rd becomes due at the end of March.  We are still investigating why reminders have not been sent via the website as you should be notified directly when the next payment becomes due.  Please do try to keep on top of payments if using the installments to pay for the trip.  The installments are set at £35 due at the end of each month, however you can make payments of any amount at any time if you prefer.  If all payments are made throught the website, a running total is clearly available to you.  If some cash has been paid you will need to contact the office for the outstanding amount.

Parent Consultations - the bookings for parent consultations slots will open at 3pm this afternoon.  They will be available until 5pm next Friday (22nd), after which you will need to contact the office to book a slot.  The consultations are set for 10 minutes per child and you are encouraged to bring your child along to the meeting.  Slots are available on Tuesday 26th 3:30-5:30pm and Wednesday 27th 5-7pm.  Please note however, Kittens slots do not start until 4:30pm on the Tuesday as Mrs Atkins is running an after school club that evening.

PTA Meeting - the next PTA meeting is being held via Zoom on Monday evening starting at 8pm.  Without the support of the PTA many of our trips and events would cost parents more than we already ask for.  Therefore please support our PTA in their endeavours to raise funds to support our children.  The link for the meeting is here.

Cross Country - if your child is attending the cross country on Wednesday, the school should already be aware of how they are being transported both ways.  Please note they are able to have a hot dinner before they go.  The participants should be collected at 12:30pm.  Please note the event is due to finish after school hours.  Participants should wear PE kits, trainers and take something warm and waterproof to wear when they are not running.  They will also need plenty of water with them.

PTA Dress Down & Disco - if you have bought tickets for the disco on Friday, Miss Cross & Mrs Austin will walk the children up to the Village Hall at 3:15pm, therefore they will just need collecting at the end of the disco.  The PTA have arranged a dress down day in exchange for chocolate donations for the Easter raffle.  Raffle tickets will be available to purchase at the end of the day on the playground.

Easter Service - just a heads up that on the last day of term (Thursday 28th) we will be holding an Easter Service at the church during the afternoon.  Parents are welcome to join us, more details next week.  Please note ALL children will need collecting from the church that day.  Parking is available at Copdock Hall.  The service will begin with an Easter bonnet parade so get planning!

Dinner monies - as we approach the financial year end, could we please ask that school dinners are paid up to date.  If you are unsure how many you owe, or have pre-paid, please contact the office for confirmation.  Payment can be made via the website or in cash in a named envelope before the end of term please.

words.PNG

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary.  In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context.  If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
