Copdock Weekly Update 13/11/2020

Photos

The children had their photos taken on Thursday and should have brought home a card with details of how to access their photos online.  You will need the codes on this card to be able to see and order images.  The photographer said it can take 3-4 working days for the photos to be uploaded onto their system, so please don’t worry if they are not on there straightaway.

Children in Need

The children had the opportunity to come into school in non-uniform today for a 50p donation to charity.  Everyone has looked fabulous and we have raised a grand total of £50.01!!!  Thank you for your generosity.

Odd Socks - Monday 16th November

Next week is National Anti-Bullying Week and we will be completing a variety of different learning activities across the year groups.  As part of recognising this week we are asking all children (and staff!) to wear odd socks on Monday 16th.  This is to highlight and deliver the message of individuality, tolerance and acceptance.  Recognising that we are all different and that's a good thing.  We look forward to seeing the children in their bright coloured, odd socks ðŸ˜Š.

School Places Sept 2021

Suffolk County Council have asked us to remind parents of children who were born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017, that you need to apply for a school place for your child by the deadline, 15th January.  All the information you need to make an application can be found at www.suffolk.gov.uk/admissions

Ifyou have or know of anyone with a child due to start school next September, please get in touch with the school office to get booked on to the virtual tour on Wednesday 18th November.  The tour will start at 6pm and we will send people who would like to join us, a link to be able to take part.

Flu Immunisations

Don't forget that the school immunisation team will be coming in on Wednesday 18th November to carry out the nasal flu immunisation for all children whose parents have applied for them to receive it. No child will be given the vaccine that hasn’t had parental agreement.

Bag Sale

We are looking for other ways to raise funds for our school this year.  We have on offer several bags for sale.  There are a variety of colours and sizes, please see the attached document for some pictures.  We believe they would be suitable for pre-school children, KS1 and maybe year 3 children.  They are all individually wrapped and will be quarantined over the weekend.  There are a limited number and a variety of designs.  If you would like to purchase any, please email into school to confirm which you would like, and send the money in an envelope with your name on so that we can tie them together.  If you would like to make a specific enquiry, we may have what you are looking for.  If you would like to view the additional options, please get in touch and we will see if we can arrange an opportunity for you to see what is available.  We will endeavour to find a way to distribute them to you without the children seeing as they'd make great Christmas presents for them.  The backpacks are £5 each and the shoulder bags are £3 each.  Items will be allocated on a strict first come, first served basis.

PTA

This Wednesday saw the virtual AGM for the PTA.  The committee now consists of Chair - Ruth Page (Abigail in Foxes's Mum), Secretary - Melissa Speed (Jessica (Woodpecker) & Joseph in Kitten's Mum) and Treasurer - Laura Houlden (Oscar in Kitten's Mum).  If you are interested in helping the PTA to raise vital funds for our school, such as supporting leaver's hoodies, discos, Santa's presents, to name but a few, please do approach one of the above, or make contact via their Facebook page.

Virtual Christmas Fayre

The PTA are currently trying to plan for a virtual Christmas Fayre.  Please watch this space for details!  If you would like to be involved in organising or supporting the event please get in touch with someone on the committee.

Parent Governor Vacancy

If you are interested in becoming a new parent governor please contact the school office by Friday 20th November so we can get the appropriate paperwork to you.

School Reports

Please respond via the link emailed out last week to acknowledge receipt of your child's report.  You do not need to answer all the questions or request a call back but we would like to know you have received it.
