Copdock Weekly Update 12/05/17

Quiz night: Thank you to all those who participated in the PTA Quiz night at the Cricket Pavilion last Friday. £175 was raised. The winning team was named “Howie’s Puppets” who stormed to victory. The ITFC ‘Blind auction for the signed shirt’ was won by Toby Hurst. 8 bids were presented with Toby’s the highest at £85! If you have any ideas or suggestions for future events, don’t forget to put the date of the next PTA meeting in your diary.

SATS week:Foxes have worked really hard this week on their SATs papers. Their breakfasts certainly gave them a boost for the challenges ahead – as you can see the children really enjoyed them. Thanks again to all the parents who helped with these, whether it was cooking the bacon or providing cups, plates, ketchup, or even the grill – it’s all greatly appreciated!

SESAW Donation: Earlier in the year we held a non-uniform day to raise funds for a local animal charity. Pat and Elizabeth from SESAW came into school this week to collect the £83.34 we had raised and brought a couple of furry friends, Kenny & Phoebe, to introduce to the children, it’s fair to say for small dogs they were a big hit!

Charity Fundraising Day: If you’re at a loose end on Saturday 13th May, why not pop along to Gladwells for their Charity Fundraising Day. The PTA will be running a cake sale and lucky dip – if you can supply any cakes they’d be gratefully received. SESAW will be among other charities exhibiting. You may even get the chance to meet Kenny & Phoebe again.

Book Swap:

Dear Parents/Carers

We are holding a book trading afternoon. It starts at 3:15pm and is on the 19th May (next Friday). So if your child would like a new book then come in with a book that you’ve read and you can swap with your friends.

Kind regards

School Council

Please ensure you remember to bring a book to be able to exchange for a ‘new’ one to take one away.
