Copdock Weekly Update 10/11/2023

Information to Share

School Photos - the children brought home slips after having their individual photographs taken this week.  These slips detail how you can order copies of the photos once they've been uploaded to the Bentley Photographic website.  Please note the deadline to get photos delivered to school is set by the company and not by us.  It is a strict deadline, orders received after it will be charged postage.

Parent Consultations - you should now be able to access slots for our parent consultations being hosted on 22nd & 23rd November.  Please note, the slots open at 3:30pm today and will close on Monday 20th at 3pm.  If you haven't managed to book a slot before this time, please contact the office.  Slots are limited per class so please, where possible, book one per child.  If this is not possible, please get in touch.  If neither of these dates are convenient, or you feel you need longer than the 10 minute slots offered, please contact the office.  Please note that Woodpeckers have a school trip on the Wednesday therefore their slots will start a little later and some additional slots have been added to the Thursday session which will start a little earlier.  We hope to be able to start at 4pm on the Wednesday for Woodpeckers but obviously, if they are delayed returning from the trip that may have an impact on the slots that evening.

Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks - we are participating in anti-bullying week from 13-17th November culminating in Children in Need on the Friday.  As part of our anti-bullying week, Head Pupils will be leading their first assembly on Monday 13th November.  We are inviting children to come in to school wearing odd socks all week, to recognise that everyone is unique and special. What will you be wearing!?!

Children in Need - On Friday 17th, children are invited to come into school in non-uniform for a £1 donation to Children in Need.  Their clothes should express themselves.  Please do bear in mind that clothing needs to be appropriate to the school and learning environment and they will still need coats for break times.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
