Copdock Weekly Update 10/07/2020

Book Collection

We are collating books and learning journeys that would normally go home at the end of the school year.  If you child is in school next week, they will be sent home with them.  If your child is in school Mon 20th or Tues 21st, they will take them home then.  If your child will not be in school on any of these days, please contact the school office to arrange to collect them during next week.

Final Assembly of the Year

Last assembly will be held next Thursday during the afternoon at 1.15pm to say farewell to all as it is the last day in school for most. We will be announcing some end of year awards that day so would like as many people as possible to join us. Photos will be taken of the children receiving the award and will be added to the website for all to see.

Year 6 Leaving Celebration

Next Friday we will be saying a fond farewell to our year 6 pupils!  Unfortunately the current situation means that this will be a celebration exclusively for year 6s.  Although we know the whole school would love the opportunity to wish them well sadly that's not going to be possible.  We will be attempting to live stream the event but as we all know this sometimes does not work well on the broadband we have available. A link will be added to the discussion page of the website. No doubt there will be many photos to be shared afterwards too.  Can year 6 parents please confirm their attendance if you haven't already

Last Week of Term

It was lovely to see many of our pupils on our video chats this week, we can't wait to see them in person for the transitions sessions on the 20th or 21st July.  Please do let us know who will be attending so that we know what numbers to expect.  As a reminder, the 'timetable' for the end of term can be found here:

School Games

We have again been awarded with the School Games certificate, and this year, we've also gained the Virtual School Games certificate in recognition of the activities we have been doing with pupils doing lockdown!  Well done everyone for participating.

Third Party Information

Please take a look on the website for information we've been asked to share with you recently.

Parentalk The Primary Years and Parentalk The Teenage Years are video based courses that we have had experience of running in several local schools. They are ideally suited to online courses as parents and carers can watch the downloadable video clips in the comfort of their home and then join a Zoom discussion meeting to go over the material with a trained facilitator.  These courses are completely free and can be started at any time. You can find out more about these courses by visiting our website www.familyfirst-uk.org/what-we-do/parenting-courses/ where you can watch short video clips explaining what we cover in each session.

Bentley School's Christian Ethos

"Know that I am with you always," Matthew 28:20 We encourage the spiritual, social, moral and cultural development of the school family by embedding Christian values into everyday life. Our vision is for all children to be confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens who are well equipped for future life, knowing that God is with them always.
