Copdock Weekly Update 09/06/2023

Thank you to everyone who joined us today for our coffee & chat, and our shared learning.  It's lovely to see so many families in attendance.

This is a really busy half term with lots of exciting things to look forward to.  Please keep an eye on the weekly news for what's coming up each week, and on the website calendar for important dates.

NEXT WEEK

After School Club

This half term is a busy one with lots going on.  Our after school club will run for 3 sessions, on Monday 12th June then July 3rd & 10th.  It will be cricket for KS2 children.  If your child would like to join in, please send an email over the weekend as we are looking to start next week.  Obviously if we do not have sufficient numbers it will not be viable to run.

Lego club also starts again next week.  Please ensure you have booked via Kids With Bricks to secure your place.

Photographs

Next Tuesday sees the annual class photos being taken.  Please ensure everyone comes into school in smart uniform including shoes, wearing their smiles.  Year 6 children will have a year group photograph taken for publication in the local press.  If you DO NOT wish your child to be included in this picture please let the office know before Tuesday.

Tennis

For the next 4 Fridays, KS2 children will be participating in tennis lessons at the Copdock & Washbrook Tennis Club.  Please ensure KS2 children come to school in their PE kits and bring plenty of water.

Induction

The first of our inductions for next year's new starters takes place next Friday with the Teddy Bears Picnic - we are really excited to see all the new families joining us, and their teddies!

PTA Meeting

We have our next PTA meeting next Friday at 3:15pm to discuss the plans for the summer fayre.  If you think you can lend a hand please pop along at pickup time and see how you can help.

Online safety update

The long summer holiday always sees children spending more time online with less supervision.  So we are once again signposting you to free online safety video series.  The videos are on a hidden page on this website so you cannot access the video page without the direct link below.

Talent Show update

Mrs Austin has had a wonderful time observing the many talents within our school during auditions.  A few more are scheduled for next week and then we will be announcing who will be offered a place on stage for 7th July.  We will be notifying you of tickets next week too and the option of ordering popcorn or ice lolly for the event break.  There will be a small charge for this to cover the cost of the hall hire and of course the snacks.  Watch this space!
