Copdock Weekly News 20.05.16

Dear All

Another week has flown by and seen the children working hard in the allotment and school grounds.  Year 5 Pupils undertook their Bikeability training and were successful in completing the Course.

Year 4 Sleepover - This year's Year 4 Sleepover has been confirmed for Friday 17th June.  This time we will be staying in Copdock School Hall.  We are planning some fun and games in the woodland area, followed by a picnic tea (possibily camp fire & songs) and a film night in the hall.  A letter containing all the details will be sent home shortly.

Queen's Birthday Card Competition - In conjunction with Copdock Hall and the Parish Council we are holding a special competition for all school aged children.  Over the half term break, the children need to design a birthday card for the Queen's 90th Birthday and bring it into school by Wednesday 8th June.  Judging will take place at the end of the week by Keith Armes, Chair of the Parish Council.  Prizes will be awarded for four age categories: - 4-5 years, 6-7 years, 8-9 years and 10-11 years.

These will be awarded as part of the Garden Party Celebrations taking place at Copdock Hall on Sunday 12th June.  On the day there will be Garden Party-type food with sandwiches, cakes, scones, tea, coffee and soft drinks, plus some entertainment for the children.  This will include face-painting, football goals and maybe a bouncy castle and rides.  This event will be Copdock Hall's main fundraiser and all donations will be for St Mary's Church, so the more money raised the better!

Half term Break - please remember Friday 23rd May is a non pupil day with the children returning after half term on Monday 6th June.

Clubs - After half term the KS2 Cricket Club will recommence, children whose names were previously on the list will remain.

The afterschool Club on Thursday with Mr Warnes will be football for children in KS2 a letter will be coming home with regards to this.

The last half term of the academic year is always a very busy one, please remember to keep your eye on the Calendar for up and coming dates.  Term dates for the next academic year can also be found on the website.
