Growing Together

The theme of this year's Children's Mental Health Week 7-13th February 2022 if Growing Together.

Growing Together is about growing emotionally and finding ways to help each other grow.  Challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt and trying new things can help us to move beyond our comfort zone into a new realm of possibility and potential.  However, emotional growth is often a gradual process that happens over time, and sometimes we might feel a bit 'stuck'.  As parents and carers, you play an important role in your child's mental health.  Check out the free resources for families on the link below.  We have also attached a useful well-being bingo which might be a useful starting point to encourage your child to engage with.

Internet Safety

This week is Safer Internet Day which is celebrated globally in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people, and to inspire a national conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically, and creatively. The children will be learning about the four areas of risk: content, contact, conduct and commerce and will be finding out how to keep safe.

Phonics Workshop

I will be running a Phonics workshop for parents in the Hall on Monday 14th February at 2:30pm.  Other parents in Wolves may also attend as a refresher.  You will be given a pack to help you support your child to learn to read and practise their phonics at home and will have the opportunity to work alongside your child on some activities.  There will be information on what phonics is covered in Reception and in Year 1, and how to pronounce each sound in order to blend to read words.
Parents have always found this a really useful session.  Please confirm your attendance via email.
Kind regards
Mrs Rudge
