As we enter the festive season, we are hoping to provide a number of our usual events, although slightly amended. Monday 30th Nov - Our hall will be beautifully decorated so we will begin our launch of Advent and Christmas Tree lights will be switched on across both schools. Friday 18th December - Christmas jumper day... OH YES IT IS!!

During the afternoon we are excited to inform you that we will be zooming the Wolsey Theatre into our school for a virtual screening of The Snow Queen. This will be held in each class bubble. We are covering the cost of the panto (oh yes we are!), but to make sure the children still get an interval treat, the PTA will be making up sweet cones for just £1!!!!! If you would like to purchase a sweet cone for your child for the performance, your £1 needs to be in by Friday 11th December at the latest in order for the cones to be made up and quarantined.

Christmas Dinner – Christmas dinner will be held over 2 days this year in order to maintain our bubbles safely.

Wolves Class Wednesday 16th December

Hedgehogs and Adders Thursday 17th December

Wolves children will not be able to order a hot meal on Thursday 17th December and will need to either bring in a packed lunch or order a pack up from the caterers (see below for details).

We need to know by the 7th December, at the very latest, if your child would like Christmas dinner on their allotted day, meat or vegetarian AND if your child would like the pack up option, cheese or tuna, on the other day. If you do not order food for your child by the 7th, you must bring packed lunches for them on these dates.

The prices for these meals is the same as usual, £2.40, and free to children in Wolves and those receiving benefits related FSM.

Christmas Cards – There will be a box for each class, children may post Christmas cards for their friends on Mondays and Tuesdays, the cards will then be quarantined and handed out on Fridays.

Adders – Children will be bringing the words home for a song called ‘Sing Christingle’. It is sung to the tune of ‘Sing Hosanna’. The backing track for this can be found at https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p06w5cnt please ask your child to practice over the weekend. Thank you.

Gifts for Homeless Children – We have had a few gifts in for the homeless families shelter in Ipswich, West Villa. If you can afford to buy an extra gift for a child, or have some unopened toys languishing in the back of a cupboard somewhere, we would be thrilled to accept them on Monday at the latest. Thank you.

Hedgehogs Parents - Over the last few weeks in Literacy, the children have been learning about the story 'The Secret of Black Rock'. We have rewritten the story and this week I would like the children to read the story we have written in class at home to ensure they fully understand it ready to plan and write their own next week. The story is attached.

Capel Library Crafts - At Capel library, we have put together craft packs for families to collect and complete at home.  Then the families are invited to bring the completed crafts back so we can display them in our window, or the crafts can be kept at home for families to enjoy.  We are just asking for a donation for the packs. Please see the attached poster for more details. Hopefully we can help spread a little happiness and we will display the returned crafts as part of St Mary's Church Village Advent Window.
