Important Information to Share

PE clothing
Children should be wearing plain, sport style, black/navy tracksuit bottoms/leggings/sweatshirts, either the school blue or black/navy shorts and the school logo or plain white t shirts as per the uniform policy.
No jewellery should be worn for PE and earrings must be removed either prior to the lesson or at home in the morning. Long hair must be tied back. 
 
Swimming shorts
A pair of black 'Gaming' swim shorts has been handed in from swimming session on Monday. If these are your child's please send them to the office to collect.
 
Swimming for Yr 3 & 4 - please can children bring shorts and T-shirts for swimming assessment on Monday. They should be tight please so do not get in the way of their swimming.
 
Adders - please note for next week PE is on Tuesday, not Wednesday.
 
Worship Group is on Tuesday.
 
Year  3 /4  Trip on Wednesday - children had a very succesful trip to the Gainsborough Museum in Sudbury on Wednesday.  They all had a lovely day and staff at the museum emailed us to compliment the children on their brilliant behaviour and representing both schools so well - well done to all the children! We will put some photos in the gallery.
 
WARNING!
Following some reports of a black Mercedes, and a couple of other cars, driving speedily down the hill to school, we are asking ALL parents to reflect on the safety of children and families who come to our school. Church road is designated as a 'quiet lane' and could have dogs, horses and walkers crossing at any time. 
PLEASE DRIVE AND PARK SAFELY AND RESPONSIBLY. THANK YOU.
 
Emotional Wellbeing and Childhood Neurodiversity Parent and Carer Workshops
Please do consider attending these sessions if you can as they cover a range of themes on anxiety, challenging behaviour, managing big feelings. 
 
 ðŸŽ„ Christmas Dates 🎄

Thursday 30th November  - Advent tree service 2.30pm. All parents welcome to join us. 

Parents also welcome to join us making decorations in class at 1.30pm (1 parent per child please, and no siblings please due to space, please let the office know if you are intending to come along to the decoration making so we know numbers in classes, thank you)

Friday 1st December - 🎄 CHRISTMAS NON- UNIFORM DAY🎄 Get in the Christmas spirit and come to school in your most Christmassy outfit.  In exchange for a box of sweets/ chocolates or a bottle of alcohol.  All donations will be used for the Christmas fair.  Please send them in with your child on the morning of the non uniform day.  Thank you see poster attached.(if donating alcohol, please take to the office directly - these should not be sent in with your child please.)

Friday 8th December - Christmas Fair at 3.15pm on Friday 8th December at School. The children will be singing some Christmas songs to get us all in the Christmas mood before the fair starts.  To make the fair a success & raise funds to help improve the outside space at school we need help to run the stalls.  If you would be able to run a stall for part of the time at the fair please let us know. It would be much appreciated. See poster attached.CAN YOU HELP ?To be able to run our Santa Grotto we need a Santa.   If you know of anyone who would be able to help us please let us know. We are also running a pub Santa grotto at the Case Is Altered in Bentley on the Saturday 9th December from 4-6pm. If you know of anyone who would be able to be Santa at either of these events please get in touch with us. Many thanks, PTA

Thursday 14th December - KS1 Christmas Performance at school 2.30pm and 6pm, details of how to book tickets to follow

 
Tuesday 19th December Christmas Lunch - this will need to be pre-ordered by Friday 1st December - please see menu attached and complete this Christmas Lunch form.
You can wear your Christmas Jumper that day.
 

 

REMINDERS!!!!

Please share you views as part of the National Campaign - The Big Ambition. This provides a much-needed opportunity for the children of England to tell political decision makers what is important to them ahead of the General Election.The Children's Commissioner will be sharing their responses with Government to ensure that children’s voices are heard. Children or parents can complete the survey here: www.childrenscommissioner.gov.uk/thebigambition. Further resources are available on their website.
 
Remember to order your school photos this week and complete the Christmas Dinner form by Friday lunchtime.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
