Bentley Weekly Update 22/06/18

Spoon Amnesty – We are currently experiencing a shortage of spoons on our cutlery tray at lunch time, and we think some may have been accidentally taken home by children in their lunch boxes when they have borrowed a spoon for yogurt etc. It would really helpful if you could take just a minute to check lunch boxes and drawers at home for any spoons that may have found their way home by mistake. Thank you.

PTA – It’s nearly the 1 week countdown to the fete! We have some new exciting stalls this year, including fun activities with Bounce and Billy Bees, along with an inflatable obstacle course, Pimms tent, games and stalls. There are a few stalls without volunteers and we rather desperately need these filling! If you can help, even for half an hour it would be very much appreciated. Please let Aimee or the office know.

We have had a great response from our grand draw raffle tickets and have just a few to come back. If you could bring these back, even unsold is absolutely fine, as we sell them on the day at the fete. Thank you for all the lovely tombola items you have all brought in today, our traditional tombola looks to be a great success! Don’t forget our next cake sale – next Friday 29th June after school.

Photos – Don’t forget, it is whole school and leavers’ photos on Tuesday morning!

Year 3/4 Quad Kids – Parents of the children selected to take part in this event next Friday have been emailed. Children will need packed lunch, snacks, sun cream and hat, plenty of drinks and of course PE kits.

Lord’s Prayer Day – Following the success of other focussed days, we are planning to have a Lord’s Prayer day on Monday 2nd July. We are looking forward to exploring this prayer that we all know so well and hear the questions and ideas that the children have about its meaning.

Wolves Canada Day – Children in Wolves class are invited to come to school wearing the colours of the Canadian flag on Tuesday 3rd July. This will be a fitting and colourful end to our topic. It is completely optional and if your child would prefer to wear uniform that is fine too.

Library Books – Letters have been sent home about missing library books. Please have a good look at home if you have received one of these letters from Mrs Robinson. There are quite a few books missing from the library and we are keen to get our selection of books back up to scratch for the children to be able to choose from.

And Finally…… We have been very lucky to have had 2 extraordinary work experience placements in our school over the last few weeks, and we are very sad to say goodbye to both Caitlin and George this week. They have both worked so hard and contributed to the classes in a superb way. We wish them both the brightest of futures and lots of luck in their chosen career paths.
