Bentley Weekly Update 20.01.17

We hope you have all had a positive week. Just a quick update this week, containing important information about homework….

Adders – Please ensure your child has both their homework book and log book every day as they need these in class every day. Although we are asking you to check your child has these, it is just as important that they learn that it is THEIR RESPONSIBILITY! All children in years 3, 4 and 5 have maths homework stuck in their homework books and the ‘Mayan Creation Story’ to learn. Year 5 also have English homework – please see the email from me about homework for Year 5 pupils this year. This homework must be completed by next Friday – it is imperative it is done so if your child is having problems with their homework, please speak to Mrs Robinson in good time.

Hedgehogs – There is story writing homework for children in Hedgehogs, please check your child’s homework book for details. Maths homework is set up on Abacus – please speak to your child’s teacher if you have any problems accessing the games. The children and staff have been thrilled with the new board installed in Hedgehogs class this week. Our thanks to the PTA and all the parents and families who support their fundraising.

Wolves – Year 1 have games on Abacus, as above, please speak to your child’s teacher if you have any problems accessing the games. Plea for socks – we have a shortage of socks and tights in our spare clothes bag in Wolves class, if you have any school tights or socks that your child has grown out of, we would be very grateful for them. Thank you. Thank you to those parents who worked so hard with their children to learn the ‘Quest’ story that came home recently, it really did have a big impact on their learning.

Lanyard Amnesty – We are missing a large number of the lanyards celebrating children’s learning. Please could you have a look at home over the weekend and bring in any you find lurking in the wardrobe or toy box etc. Thank you.

Community Links – We are updating our community links on the school website and are looking to put information about local children’s sports clubs. If your child is part of a team or club, could you ask the organisers if they would like a link added to our website and if so to get in touch with the office.

Thur 26th Jan – Guitar / Drum lessons

Fri 27th Jan – Bowling treat for selected pupils
