Important Information to Share

Year 3 & 4 parents - New Spelling Homework
In years 3 and 4 we are trialling a new spelling scheme and the children are now being given a weekly spelling homework sheet to complete. Your child is expected to complete one column each day for 5 days, it shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. This needs to be handed in on a Tuesday morning with their homework book. There may be some spelling words on lists that were covered earlier in the year but this is due to the units being organised differently. The spelling shed app is still available to the children for the rest of this term and we will try to match up the activities to the new word lists being used.

'Fun-time Friday' for families
A reminder that we are looking at the possibility of offering a 'Fun-time Friday' session for families within our community (3 years+) to compliment Pam Rayment's toddler sessions running at the village hall. This will provide an opportunity for children and adults to become familiar with our school before they are applying for a school place in the Reception year. At this stage we are looking into sourcing toys and resources to support these sessions and would welcome any donations that might have been outgrown and are clean and well cared for. If anyone is interested in supporting us spread the news once plans have been finalised, please let us know .

Don't forget to check out our website for information on events happening soon including holiday clubs, sporting sessions and more.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
