Bentley Weekly Update 17.11.2023

Important Information to Share

Start of School day
It has been lovely to see the children walking independently on to the playgound for the last two mornings. please continue to encourage your child to walk to the playground on their own.  Mrs Cumberland or Mrs Wilson will always be on the gate for any questions and members of staff will be on the playground to welcome them.

School events
A big thank you  to Head Pupils for their assembly to open antibullying week and to all those who wore odd socks for the week. We were also extremely proud of the way our children engaged with the Remembrance Service last week and this was commented upon by the community.
We are please to let you know that Bentley raised £64.38 for the Poppy Appeal.
It is Children in Need day today and children have  dressed to express themselves.  We have raised £40 to donate to the Children In Need fundraising.  We are aware some children have forgotten their donation today so we will keep the money here until after Monday.

Photos
School photos are now available, see the email sent on Wednesday - reminder that the deadline set by Bentley photographic is Thursday 30th November.  This is set by the company, not by the school.

Morning Club
If you wish to use morning club, please could you book in advance so we know how many children we have in school each morning.

Lost Property
There is still a lot of lost property in the tub in the office - I will leave the box in the hall for assembly this afternoon. Please feel free to check the box - there are mostly PE tops and hoodies but also a couple of school jumpers and cardigans, and one new fleece. Please ensure all items of clothing are named so they are easily re-united.

Please do consider attending these sessions if you can as they cover a range of themes on anxiety, challenging behaviour, managing big feelings.

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
