Bentley Weekly Update 13/07/18

Christchurch Park Reward Trip – We are very excited about our trip next week to Christchurch Park. Please remember to send you child with a sandwich (we will be providing other bits to eat), drinks, sun-cream and hat. Children will need to come to school dressed in their sports day colours. We will be back before the end of the school day.

Local Clubs and Events – A new page has been set up on the website with information about local clubs and events that might be of interest to you. If you would like to access this information it can be found on the drop down list on the INFORMATION tab on the homepage or by visiting http://www.bentleycopdock.co.uk/page/local-clubs-and-events/46389

PTA Leavers’ BBQ - Now that the fete is done and dusted, we have started the planning for this year’s leaver’s BBQ! It is being held on Monday 23rd July from 6-8pm. There will be a BBQ, selection of drinks for children and adults, raffle, sweet stall, freshly made popcorn, photo booth and our Bentley boat races! It will be finished off with a big cake for our year 6 leavers.

All are warmly invited to attend. Please do feel free to bring along older children and family members. It is always a lovely family evening. We have a licence in place to sell alcohol but we would like to remind everyone all that we do not endorse drink driving, and that parents are responsible for their children whilst at the BBQ. We had unsupervised children in the wooded area last year which resulted in injuries and other upsets. We want this to be a fun and enjoyable evening for everyone and thank you in anticipation for your cooperation with this.

All children are invited to enter and race their boats along our special water course. Boats must be under 10cm in width and no motors are allowed. (water bottles, ketchup bottles and juice cartons work well!). The PTA will provide speed enhancing objects on the night! We look forward to seeing you all on the night.

Old Shirts – Thank you to those people who have sent in old shirts and t-shirts for children to use as painting overall, we could still do with a few more, so if you have an old shirt you are throwing away, send it our way please!

School Work Home – Please bring a strong bag in on Friday for your child to be able to bring home all their lovely work from the term.

Football Club and Bug Club – This week’s clubs were the last ones – there will be no football club or bug club next week.

Year 5 / 6 Pleasurewood Hills Trip – Our annual trip to Pleasurewood Hills is all set for next Thursday – please re-read all the information to ensure you are fully prepared and know the timings. The letter can be found on the website if you can’t find the original.

Report Slips – Please ensure these are returned as soon as possible. We hope you have enjoyed the new format.
