Bentley Weekly Update 10.11.2023

Important Information to Share

Parent Consultations - you will be able to access slots for our parent consultations being hosted on 22nd & 23rd November from 3:30pm today and will close on Monday 20th at 3pm.  If you haven't managed to book a slot before this time, please contact the office.  Slots are limited per class so please, where possible, book one per child.  If this is not possible, please get in touch.  If neither of these dates are convenient, or you feel you need longer than the 10 minute slots offered, please contact the office.  Please note that Year  3 & 4 have a school trip on the Wednesday therefore Hedgehogs slots will start a little later.  We hope to be able to start at 3.50pm on the Wednesday for Hedgehogs but obviously, if they are delayed returning from the trip that may have an impact on the slots that evening.

Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks - As part of our anti-bullying week, Head Pupils will be leading their first assembly on Monday 13th November. We are inviting children to come in to school wearing odd socks all week, to recognise that everyone is unique and special. What will you be wearing!

Children in Need - On Friday 17th, children are invited to come into school in non-uniform for a £1 donation to Children in Need.  Their clothes should express themselves.  Please do bear in mind that clothing needs to be appropriate to the school and learning environment and they will still need coats for break times.

Worship Group - is on Tuesday lunchtime

Newspapers - if anyone has any old (appropriate) newspapers, please can you send them in for covering tables for painting. Thank you!

Photography / videos in school - please can we remind everyone that photos and videos should not be taken on the school site or at school events as some parents have not given permission for their child to be photographed.

Free girls football sessions for age 8 – 11 at Brantham Athletic FC, every Monday 4.30 – 5.30pm.No experience necessary, drills, practices, skills and a game to finish – all for fun! Girls in current Year 6 – we would love to create a team for next season – why not come along and join in while we build numbers and friendships. see leaflet attached

REMINDERS!!!!

Message for Hedgehog Parents - Homework - Unfortunately, we had many children having to complete their spelling and TTR homework this week in their lunchtime. Please can you ensure that your child is completing their homework as agreed in our home school agreement.

Homework needs to be brought in every Tuesday. If children haven't practised their spellings on Spelling Shed, then we do expect to see daily practise on paper and this handed in. Thank you for your support in advance.

Adders need a packed lunch on Wednesday as they are visiting Suffolk One over lunchtime.

Please return slips and monies for Year  3 & 4 trip to Sudbury Museum by Friday 17th November.

Adders change to PE days - Adders PE days will be Monday and Wednesday for the rest of this term.

Please remember to also check class blogs for more information

Every week we encourage parents to support their children to learn and use new vocabulary. In school we will be exploring the origin of new words, what they mean and how to use them effectively in context. If you can encourage your child to use these words it would be really helpful!
