Bentley Weekly Update 06/07/18

Talent Show and Art Exhibition – Don’t forget to come along on Friday from 1:15pm to support the brave children taking part in Bentley’s Got Talent show and to come and see all the children’s artistic efforts in their art exhibitions. Every child in the school has produced a work of art that has been framed and will be on display in classrooms. The pieces of art will be up for sale money raised will be used to fund Eco Council projects. Well done to all those children on Eco Council (and of course Mrs Duff) for all the hard work they have put into planning these events. It really has taken a great deal of organisation.

Sports Day – What a fantastic turnout we had for sports day! Thank you to all those parents, grandparents and even great grandparents who made it along to cheer all the children on. The picnics that were brought along were quite spectacular. Congratulations to red team who won the overall competition, however, we wanted to say how proud we were of all the children who tried their very best and showed extraordinary teamwork. In particular we would like to acknowledge how much support children in Adders gave to the younger children. Well done to you all!

Classrooms - As you are no doubt aware by now, Hedgehogs and Wolves have swapped classrooms. They are enjoying their new learning environments and we are very grateful to Doug (Kelan’s Dad) for all his hard work helping us move and putting flat pack furniture together.

Summer Fete – The PTA summer fete was an absolute stonker this year! Thank you so much to the PTA and all the other helpers who gave their time to make it such a success. The new stalls were fantastic and it was so great to see so many families supporting the event. We are very pleased to report that all the hard work resulted in an amazing profit of £2310.33!!!! This is an astounding profit that will make a big impact on the children’s learning and opportunities in school. Thank you all.

Wolves – We are in need of old shirts and t-shirts to use as painting overalls in Wolves class. It doesn’t matter if they are stained or torn, they just need to be large child or adult size so that they are nice and big on the children to cover as much of their uniform as possible!

Hedgehogs – Please could you save any Styrofoam pizza bases if you cook any pizzas over the next week or 2. We are planning on doing some printing and it makes the perfect material for this. Thank you.

Muddy Run – Thank you to everyone who sponsored our intrepid team to take on the Muddy Run challenge; your support has raised a fantastic £158 for the school. Thank you.

Drums and Guitars Assembly – The children who take part in the drums and guitars lessons will be performing during assembly on Monday. Parents are warmly invited to come along to support the children. The assembly will start at 10:30am on Monday.

SATs Results and Reports – As advised in last week’s news, reports will be sent home on Tuesday next week. This is the same day as the SATs results are released.
