Woodpeckers Monday 1st June

Good morning Woodpeckers

I hope you and your families all had a good half term and you are now ready for the last half term of learning.

All of your learning is now going to be on-line. You will need to open the timetable that is attached and look at the column for Monday.  All the links you need will be on there. Please let the school know straight away if you have any difficulties accessing these links.

The topic theme for this week is Under the Sea which enables you to learn more about life in and around the sea. Learning may focus on the different oceans and their layers, the wonderful sea creatures that live in those layers, the Great Barrier Reef and the human impact on our Oceans and sealife.

I have attached the Talk 4 Writing Unit which you will need for your Writing tasks for the week.

Spellings for the week:

Mrs North's group you will be focusing on words ending with the 'g' sound spelt '-gue' and the 'k' sound spelled '-que'. The spellings are:

vague,league, plague, tongue, fatigue, antique, unique, grotesque, mosque, plaque. 

Mrs Handscombe's group you will be focusing on the short vowel sound 'o'. The spellings are:

other, mother, brother, nothing, cover, money, some, dozen, wonder, done. 

I will now be back in school on a Monday's and Tuesday's and Mrs North will be in school on Wednesday's and Thursday's. This will mean that Mrs Windmill will be checking the blog and weekly discussion page each day to see your learning and answer any questions that you may have. We will check back in on Friday to see all the fantastic learning you have been doing throughout the week.

Mrs Handscombe will now be making the weekly phone calls to speak to you and your parent(s) and see how you are getting on, Please do let her know how you are and how you arre finding the new home learning. She will be able to pass on any comments to Mrs North and myself.
