Good morning Squirrels, 

Due to the weather we are going to be doing our learning at home today. It will be great to see you joining onto our class link at 9:15 ready to hear our plans for the day.

9:15 - Registration:

9:35 - 9:55 - Phonics:

Y1 - nonsense words. Make up some nonsense words for monsters and draw monsters to go with them. Use the digraphs: ve, ph, ui, ew, ou, ai,ay,er,ar,ea, ow, oa, ar.  An example might be phouting.

Y2 - I have attached the spelling shed slides to the blog. You will need to open this and complete then complete two of the activity slides (you can choose which ones you would like to do).

10:00 - 10:30 - English:

Can you find some instruction texts at home (cooking books would be a good place to look) and find some of the features it uses. Make sure to also look at how it is set out, are there pictures, steps etc? Do they have imperative verbs like stir, cut, whisk? Do they have words like first, then, next?

12:00 - 1:00 - Lunchtime

1:00 - 2:00 - Science:

Yesterday we started to look at food and decide if it was a red, amber or green if we were to eat lots of it.  Go on a hunt in your kitchen and find lots of different types of food. Draw them and decide if they are red, amber or green.

2:00 - 2:30 - French: 

Watch the French animal names video. Then can you draw some of the animals and label them with the french name.
