Date: 21st Jan 2022 @ 3:51pm

Hello Squirrels,

I hope you have had wonderful weekend.

This weeks learning behaviour is: Work hard

Words of the week:

This week we will be starting a new piece of writing in the style of a biography. This will be based on the book 'Bold women in Black History' by Vashti Harrison. In Maths we will be continuing thrguh multiplication and division, focusing on multiplying by 2, 5 and 10. In Art, we will be exploxing the work of Julian Opie and creating ur own portraits in this style and in ICT we will be continuing to explore robots and algorithms. In Science you will be investigating the question 'What do animals need to survive?'.

Last week you were sent home with an A4 sheet with spellings on in your homework book. This is the spelling list for your year group, we are working towards knowing how to spell all these words by the end of the year. So that we can do this I have sent home this list to allow you to practise them at home as well as at school. The list shows what words you can already spell and those that have a dot next to them are the ones that you particularly need to practise. We will do a test on these spellings at the end of every half term to see how everyone has progressed. Please practice these throughout the half term ready for this.

PE this week is on Monday and Wednesday so please make sure to come in your PE kit.

Homework:

Spellings can be found in your homework book and on spelling shed.

Maths - Please practice for the number challenge

English - Complete the there/their/there sheet stuck in homework books

Topic - This week in art we were exploring collage, and making collages of our faces. Can you use these skills at home to make another collage of a face, by getting a large picture of a face and adding on different pictures of different features. Perhaps you could cut out pictures and features from a magazine or newspaper, or you could print some off. Remember to think about the proportion of the features to the face.

Have a great week!

Miss Barton
