Monday 30th March Hedgehogs

Date: 30th Mar 2020 @ 7:22am

Welcome back Hedgehogs J

I hope you all had an enjoyable weekend.

Please have a look at the learning links and ideas for today. Remember to be as active as possible and read lots. There are also extra activities you can look at in the image below that you may also want to try today!

Daily Challenge: Can you build something? It can be big or small – it’s your choice! Try to get creative but don’t forget to ask an adult’s permission before you begin!

  • Morning Wake and Shake!

Live PE lesson with Joe Wicks - The Body Coach at 9am. See the link below for more information. Just type 'PE with Joe' into YouTube search to find it.

Remember, keeping active is one of the best ways to keep feeling positive!

  • English tasks:

  • 20 minutes reading on your own or to an adult
  • 10 minutes on Spelling Shed - new spellings have been assigned! See below for details.

Over the next couple of days, we are going to be writing a non-chronological report about an animal of your choice. You could even choose one of the African animals that came to visit us from Kimmy’s Zoo!

Today you need to do some research and plan your report using the internet or books you have at home.

Can you find information on the following key areas to get you started? Remember to group your information so it is easier to write in paragraphs tomorrow!

  • Where they live (their habitat)
  • What they eat (are they a omnivore, carnivore, herbivore)
  • Where in the world you find them
  • Any particular characteristics they have
  • Any other interesting facts you can find out (e.g bumble bees have smelly feet so they can find their way back to a good source of food)

(Time to take a break and have some fun!)

  • Maths Task:

20 minutes on TTRs – have a go in the Studio to set your Rock Speed today and also try to complete at least one Sound Check. I have now set the tables so the Garage should also be more of a challenge for some of you.

https://mathsframe.co.uk/en/resources/category/22/most-popular  - this is another website with free games you may want to investigate!

Please complete the questions in your maths homework book.

Year 3 – pg. 8-9

Year 4 – pg. 6-7

(Now make sure you have had a play and something for lunch. What jobs around the house can you help with today?)

  • Afternoon art and science task:

This afternoon we are going to be using our learning in science of how shadows are formed to create some artwork. Using a source of light like the sun or a light bulb (the brighter it is, the easier it will be to see!), create a shadow on a piece of paper. Draw around your shadow outline and then turn your drawing into a masterpiece! What images/landscapes can you create?

(Now it’s time to be active and get as much fresh air as you can. Maybe you could go for a walk or cycle with your family? Or make up a dance to a favourite song. Just make sure you stay safe!)

Please share what you have created or written today on this blog and don’t forget to ask for help if you need it!

Have fun!
