Kittens

Date: 14th May 2022 @ 7:05am

Hello, I hope you enjoyed the sunshine over the weekend.

This week we have a special visitor.  Teddy's mummy is bringing  Teddy's baby brother because Reception children are showing lots of interest in babies.  Please could all Reception children bring in a photo of when they were a baby and toddler so we can compare and talk about how we have changed and what we can do now.

Please pop library books in bags on Monday and we will try and change these at the beginning of the week.

Thank you to those who have donated a box of cereal, it is greatly appreciated.

'Stay and play' will be on Thursday 2.45pm for Reception parents.

This week, Year 1 will be comparing how London and Nairobi are different.  We will also continue to explore our senses and what helps us to stay safe.

As we approach the Jubilee, we are learning songs and the National Anthem so if you like Karaoke at home-here's my suggestion

Forest school as usual on Monday. Please make sure your child has long bottoms.

Have a good week!

Homework

Year 1

-Instead of spellings this week you have nonsense and real words to practise sounding out with your adult.  We will be focusing on nonsense words over the next week as the phonic screening check  will be after half term.

-Read 5 times and record in your reading diary

-Number challenge

-Blue maths book page

Reception

-I have provided a copy of the Early Learning Goals which form part of the statutory assessment for Early Years.  Over the next few weeks, I will be making judgements against these.

-Practise pairs of numbers that make 5 : 4+1, 3+2, 5+0, 1+4, 2+3, 0+5.  If you know these confidently, try pairs that make 10.  We need to know these for the Early Learning Goal.

-Handwriting, please practise as much as possible because children need to be forming most letters correctly.

-5 reads, please record in reading diary.
