Kittens 9.11.20

Date: 7th Nov 2020 @ 12:40pm

Hello Kittens,

Welcome back to another school week! I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed some of the Autumn sunshine!

Last week we started this term's learning called 'Journeys through time'. Year 1, please click here. You will find a curriculum map. This will give you an idea of what we will be learning this half term.

This week our learning behaviour is 'working hard'.

Home learning:

Yr 1 - Please continue to log on to Spelling Shed to help you to learn this week's spellings. Our 'reading challenge' continues so to get your weekly stars, read at least 5 times this week and ask a grown-up to sign your yellow book.

Don't forget to go over your word wall words (spot words) before you read your books. Can you spot any of these in the books you are reading? Don't forget to just say them, rather than blend. This will help with your fluency.

Today (Monday), you will be taking home a fridge vocabulary sheet and a vocabulary sticker to let your grown-ups know the words to learn and use for the week.

Reception

I hope you enjoyed some of the Autumn sunshine over the weekend too!

Please click here for your curriculum map, showing you what you will be learning in school this half term.

I will leave the Powerpoint from last week's Phonic workshop up for another week. Please click here for the Powerpoint used during this session. Please use the resources to support your child's learning at home. Click here to the link to our Jolly Phonic songs.

Take a look at your learning from last week and talk to your grown-ups about the things you can remember.

I also have a number Maths challenge for you. Please click here. I would love to see your learning on Tapestry.

It was so nice to see last week, that many of you have been reading at home! This means you can take part in our 'reading challenge'. Please ask your grown up to write in your yellow reading log everytime you read your school books. When we see 5 dates, when know to give you your next reading challenge link. When you have 10 links (10 weeks of 5 reads) you get your first certificate!

I hope you enjoyed reading your report last Friday. You have been working really hard in school and have much to be proud of! Here are the details to access this again.....

You will be able to access your child's report through your school website log in. Please look at this week's news letter (click here) to let you know your log in details. If you have not done so, please also look at the follow letter
