Kittens - 4/11/22

Date: 4th Nov 2022 @ 4:27pm

Hi Kittens,

What a first week we have had back! I hope you all enjoyed our enrichment day learning all about The Great Fire of London. It was lovely to see everyone so enthusiastic towards their learning.

Next week we will be starting a new writing unit based on the cbeebies video 'poppies'. We will be thinking about remembrance day and why it is important. In Maths reception will be exploring circles and triangles, with Year 1 continuing their learning on addition.

Year 1 spellings for this week are:

  • first
  • cried
  • true
  • music
  • people

As usual these will be on EdShed should you wish to practise online :)

A few reminders:

Thursday is school photo day! Children should come in wearing school uniform instead of their PE kits.

Year 1 children now have spot books. These are a mixture of tricky and common exception words for year 1. Please practise reading them with your child. Once they have read them correctly/fluently 5 times they will get a tick and have another word added :)

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the fireworks if you see them!
