Kittens 30.11.20

Date: 29th Nov 2020 @ 8:59pm

Bonjour Kittens,

Welcome to Monday and the beginning of Advent!

This week our learning behaviour is 'learn from your mistakes to improve'.

We still have some bags available for sale, as shared with you in the weekly newsletter.  Click here for photographs for an indication of what is available.  If you don't see what you are looking for, please ask the office as there are many different designs.  Large back packs are £5, medium sized bags are £4 and the smaller bags are £3.  All the money raised will go to the school funds.

Home learning:

Yr 1 -

Please learn this week's spellings.

Please continue to learn your 'spot words'. Can you spot any of these in the books you are reading? Don't forget to just say them, rather than blend. This will help with your fluency. I have added a link here for your grown-ups to have a look at. It will give them other ideas to help you learn your spot words (high frequency words).

We are starting to look at new ways of making the previous sounds we have learnt like ai - ay. I will add new phonic flashcards at the end of the week to help you learn these at home.

I have added another daily handwriting sheet. These are the cursive letters we have been learning in school. Please complete each letter on the set day:

Monday - r

Tuesday - n

Wednesday - m

Thursday - h

Friday - p

In Maths, we are continuing to learn our number bonds. We need to learn these off by heart to help with our calculation skills. Ask your grown-ups to look at this clip - click here and this information booklet - click here to help them know more about number bonds. This link - click here is for you to practise your number bonds at home. This week is 5.

Reception

Take a look at your learning from last week and talk to your grown-ups about the things you can remember.

Click here: My learning this week 27th November

I have added a new family of letters for you to have a go at writing. They are letters that belong to the family of letters we call 'curly caterpillars'. Have a go at writing one each night.

Remember to keep looking at your  'spot words' and 'tricky words'. I know you are finding your tricky words harder to remember, so have a listen to this song to help you. It is really catchy. Click here. Please click here. Here is a link for your grown-ups to give them some ideas to help you too. Grown-ups please click here.
