Kittens 23.11.20

Date: 23rd Nov 2020 @ 2:12pm

Bonjour Kittens,

This week our learning behaviour is 'keep trying - don't give up'. Remember, try to stick at things even if they get tough, you will learn new ways of doing things and bounce back!

We still have some bags available for sale, as shared with you in the weekly newsletter.  Click here for photographs for an indication of what is available.  If you don't see what you are looking for, please ask the office as there are many different designs.  Large back packs are £5, medium sized bags are £4 and the smaller bags are £3.  All the money raised will go to the school funds.

Home learning:

Yr 1 -

Please learn this week's spellings. These are now in your book.

I have given you new 'spot words'. Can you spot any of these in the books you are reading? Don't forget to just say them, rather than blend. This will help with your fluency. I have added a link here for your grown-ups to have a look at. It will give them other ideas to help you learn your spot words (high frequency words).

I have added another daily handwriting sheet. These are the cursive letters we have been learning in school. Please complete each letter on the set day:

Monday - Long ladder family - y

Tuesday - Zigzag monster family - v

Wednesday - Zigzag monster family - w

Thursday - Zigzag monster family - x

Friday - Zigzag monster family - z

In Maths, we are continuing to learn our number bonds. We need to learn these off by heart to help with our calculation skills. Ask your grown-ups to look at this clip - click here and this information booklet - click here to help them know more about number bonds. This link - click here is for you to practise your number bonds at home. This week is 4. I have also put into your reading folder some number sentences that total 4.

Reception

Take a look at your learning from last week and talk to your grown-ups about the things you can remember.

Click here: My learning this week 20th November

If you have not had a go at writing last week's letters from the long ladder family, have a go this week. I will send more home shortly.

You have done so well learning your 'spot words' I have given you a new set. They are in your reading folder. Please continue to revisit old ones from time to time to help you remember them.

I have added a link to a fun song to help you think about positional language. Click here for the link.

It was so nice to see last week, that many of you have been reading at home! This means you can take part in our 'reading challenge'. Please ask your grown up to write in your yellow reading log every time you read your school books. When we see 5 dates, when know to give you your next reading challenge link. When you have 10 links (10 weeks of 5 reads) you get your first certificate!
