Date: 14th Jan 2022 @ 6:05pm

Hello!  I hope you had a good weekend.

This week we have a special visitor ........ a tarantula!  Reception are learning about pets and we have a vet practice in our classroom!  Last week, two big boxes arrived for our class and we thought they might have been from the zoo because they looked like the boxes in Dear Zoo which we have just read.  Reception did lots of writing about what animal they thought might be inside.  Luckily, the boxes didn't have zoo animals in them.    We are going to be artists and sculpure an animal in clay.

Year 1 are learning about animal groups: mammals, birds, amphibians, reptiles and fish.  In art they have been exploring the human form-check out our Facebook page to see a photo.

Please could you send your child in full PE kit for Tuesday as we have a PE session on this day.  Our curricuulum maps for Reception nd Year 1 learning can be found on our website on the class and curriculum tabs.  The curricuulum map tells you what your child will be learning over the half term.

Just a polite reminder - please ensure reading books are kept in the plastic folders and looked after.  Sadly, we have noticed some have been bent and these are our only copies which we use in class to match our phonic programme.  Please return books on Thursday so we can check them, count reads and give new ones.

Remember to check last week's blog for homework.

Have a good week,

Miss H Cross
