Hello! I hope you all enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations and had a good week.  A short week and I'm sure it will feel like Monday tomorrow!  This week we are introducing our new topic-What is Mersea Island like as a place?  We will be focusing on developing our map skills and hope to visit Mersea for a fieldtrip if we can book a coach!  We will also be investigating what holidays were like for our parents and grandparents so this week please send in any photos of parents and grandparents on holiday when they were young so we can display these.  We are particularly focusing on UK seaside holidays from the past so look forward to seeing these.   I will label the photos to ensure they are returned. I am just finishing our curriculum map and this will be available by Friday for more information about what your child will be learning this half term.

On Thursday, we have our family shared learning session which will replace our ‘stay & play’ session.  All Reception and KS1 parents can come into school to look at books and talk to their children about their learning.  If you have one child in Rec/KS1, please come in at 2.45pm.  If you have 2 children in Rec/KS1, you are welcome to come in at 2.30pm.  I look forward to seeing you then if you can make it.

I will be completing the Year 1 phonic screening check this week which is a statutory check and I will keep parents updated about how their child performed.

Look forward to seeing you all this week.
