Hedgehogs 4.10.21

Date: 29th Sep 2021 @ 9:42pm

Good morning Hedgehog families,

I hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Our learning behaviour of the week is, 'Don't Give Up'.

Vocabulary words this week are: 'interpret' and 'evidence'.

This week, we will continue to be historians and learn about Lowestoft and what was significant about this area 150 years ago. In geography, we will be looking at population data and discussing patterns over the last 150 years in Suffolk.

In English, we are going to write our own poems about autumn and in maths we will be continuing to learn about place value of 3-digit and 4-digit numbers.

Reminders

Monday:

Spelling test and new spellings given out - please make sure your child is practising their spellings everyday and on Spelling Shed.

Times tables test - please make sure your child is practising at least twice a week.

Homework -  There are two homework tasks this week.

1. Your child has their own CGP maths workout and arithmetic books to write in. Each week I will be setting the children a workout in each book for the children to complete. This week I would like your child to complete Autumn workout 1 in each book please. This is due in Monday 11th October. If you would like to borrow a maths bag this year to support your child at home, particularly when they are completing their homework, then please let me know via email or when I am on the playground at the end of the day and we will arrange one for your child.

2. To support our Geography learning, I would like the children to use a map either a book or a map online and locate the towns in Suffolk. Complete the sheet in their homework books.

Swimming kit needed.

Friday:

PE kit on.

5 Reads - Sign

It was very disappointing last week that only 5 out of 15 children had their logbook signed and received their weekly read sticker. It is vital your child is reading everyday and it is recorded and signed for Friday. As agreed in the home school agreement, children should be completing their homework every week and records are kept up-to-date!

Have a lovely week.
