Welcome back Hedgehogs,
We hope you had a lovely weekend.
Our learning behaviour of the week is, 'Work Hard' and our value is, 'Truthfulness'.
Words of the week: 'Mediterranean' and 'environmental'. The Year 2 word is 'nutrition'.
Reminders:
National Sports Week - will be doing different sporting activities throughout the week, including the use of our new bikes and scooters.
Monday - Children to be in uniform unless they are taking part in football. Year 2 swimming.
Tuesday - Sports day afternoon - All need their team colour t-shirt on.
Our annual sports afternoon takes place on Tuesday. Families are invited to join children for a picnic on the field from 12 noon. If the weather is still hot and sunny, parents are welcome to bring a small gazebo to put up for shade. If you have not pre-ordered the Feast on the Field please ensure you send a packed lunch for your child, there is no option to order a lunch on the day. The activities will start at 1pm. Please see the email sent last week for details of team colours. Children will also need a hat and plenty of water. We look forward to sharing the day with you. If you are not able to attend, please collect your child from the field at the end of the day. Adders parents, please email the office if your child is allowed to walk home / meet you at the usual agreed place.
Parking - Please note for parking for sports day as we have had complaints from local residents and community - please can parents park only on the school field for attending and collecting from sports afternoon. Please do not park in the shop or pub carpark. If you are attending you will be able to park in the field once we are there and open the gate. If you are collecting at the end of the day, you will be able to enter the school field to park and collect from 3pm when the gate will be re-opened. If you are parking in the village please be considerate of residents and other road users. Thank you.
Wednesday - Year 2 Trip
Year 2 children will be joining the Year 2s from Copdock for a trip to Colchester Synagogue on Wednesday 21st June. Please ensure all forms have been returned and payment made prior to the visit - ideally by Monday 19th. Children should attend school at the usual times wearing school uniform and school shoes. Please see the letter sent via the school website last week for further information.
Thursday - PTA non-uniform day
On Thursday 22nd June the PTA is holding a non-uniform day for the children to take part in. (As Yr 3 to 6 have tennis please can they wear sport appropriate clothes). If the children would like to take part, could they please bring in either a box of chocolates or sweets or a bottle of wine. We will use these for our summer fair tombola. All donations will be much appreciated.

Homework Due in Friday 23rd June
- TTR
- Practise weekly and half termly spellings on Spelling Shed 5x 5 minutes a day.
- Complete the CGP Reading - refer to your child's logbook for the workout.
- Complete 5 reads and parents to sign ready for Friday.
