Copdock Weekly Update 26/06/2020

We hope you have all managed to make good use of the lovely weather and it has not been too hot for you.

We are crossing fingers for a fine day as we welcome our new children and parents in for a picnic and tour of the school.

Year 2 video chat and story with Mrs Austin - Friday 3rd July 1.30pm.

In advance of the Y2 day in school on Monday 20th July, we would like to invite you and your children to attend a live video call with Mrs Austin. This will be a chance for the children to ask any questions about school and share any news they might have. Mrs Austin will also read them a story. A link will be placed on the children's discussion tab of the website. We hope you can all join in!

It has been lovely to see our Year 6 children in school again this morning and we are busy planning for the final leavers celebration.

In advance of this day we would like the children to share a few special memories they will take away with them so these can be shared collectively. We will talk to the children in school about this but perhaps you could spend a moment reflecting with them at home too.

Please can you all let us know if you have two adults attending on the day so we can make final preparations. Where possible we would encourage you to make alternative arrangements for younger siblings. Please let us know if this will create challenges for you.

I am sure you will be keeping up with the Government announcements about schools. We are currently awaiting further guidance on what September will look like but the proposal is that all schools will be open for all children. Once we have more information we will of course share our plans with you. For now, we are maintaining social distancing within school and reinforcing positive hand hygiene.

Annual Awards

Staff have been discussing nominations for our annual awards as we are keen to ensure that children are recognised for their contributions and efforts this academic year. During the final week in school, we will be awarding our trophies to these children when they are in school. If your child is not in currently school but receives an award, we will arrange for it to be collected. Videos of these presentations will be added to the website for you to see so you can all join in the celebration of these achievements. All awards will be cleaned before being handed to the next child.

Our awards will include the following:

  • Caring Cup - KS1 and KS2
  • Learning and achievement cups - KS1 and KS2
  • Sports attitude and sports achievements trophies
  • Headteacher shield

For those children in school on Monday, there will be an additional option for lunch - cheese, ham or beef sandwiches.  Please remember when coming onto site to collect your child(ren) that there is a strict one-way system in place.  It is for everyone's safety that this needs to be adhered to.

Please note that the free access to Numbots, which some of you have been using at home, expires on Monday.  Please also see attached newsletter which we have been asked to share with you.
