Copdock Weekly Update 12/02/2021

Well, we have finally reached half term...hooray I hear you all cry!

Whilst we appreciate half term may not feel so different this time round, please try to take some time to escape from online lessons and formal learning...I think we all need a break!

Please see our website for things you may wish to do with the children if they get bored; there are lots of virtual visits, tours, workshops if you are interested.

As a staff we will be watching the news carefully for any updates on next steps from Boris and we will keep you posted on any last minute announcements should they arise.

Have a lovely half term.

Joanne  Austin

Please see attached information which we have been given to update us on the roadworks on the A14.  Please also note that Swan Hill will be closed on Monday.  Obviously, as it's half term next week, this doesn't impact your journeys to school but may affect journeys to work or essential shopping.

Social Get Together

We know children are really missing their friends whilst we are not in school and want to try to help organise a chance for them to get together for a chat.  With this in mind, teachers are planning a Teams call during the first couple of days back after the half term.  This will be a chance for the children to share their news, show something special or ask each other questions.

To make sure everyone has the chance to join in, we will be meeting with one year group at a time for a 30 minute session.  Teachers will provide more details as part of their discussions on the website but here is advance notice of the times so you can be ready to join in...

Half Term Activities

Once again, we have been inundated with ideas for things to keep you busy in half term.  Usually these would be referenced on our website or through links on the weekly news, and often sent home via magazines.  Please do check out the Local Clubs and Events section of the website for more details.  One Life have shared some events - further details are on our website.  We've once again been contacted by CBBC to promote their YouTube channel who say "We are uploading videos to it daily that are suitable for 5-11 year olds. We have all the top CBBC brands on here, with a wide range of genres from factual shows, news, dramas, comedy to entertainment. Programmes like Horrible Histories, Blue Peter, Newsround, The Next Step, Saturday Mash-Up, Operation Ouch, the Playlist, the Dumping Ground, Heirs of the Night and Jamie Johnson. We are also welcoming back Dani Harmer in the brilliant new programme My Mum Tracy Beaker."

Clearing Site

Well, we had some excitement at the beginning of the week and some excellent photos of everyone enjoying a couple of proper snowy days.  We'd like to thank Mrs Wilson and her little army of helpers for clearing the site and making it safe for us to re-open on Wednesday.  Thanks guys, it really is appreciated.

Education City

Our trial of Education City has been extended until Easter.  Please make use of it for some fun games to encourage the children in their learning.  Please ensure you have made a note of your child's login details.

Have a lovely half term and we look forward to more learning from Monday 22nd February.
