Trip to Parliament,London.

Impressively all the children made it to school in time for our early start and we were soon on our way to London. On arriving we walked through the crowds of tourists to the Houses of Parliament, quickly realising just how busy the big city was!

After passing through airport style security we were soon being shown around the inside of this impressive building. And what a wow moment. Being shown through rooms decorated in 24 cart gold, with paintings of all our kings and queens was amazing. We went inside the House of Lords, saw where all the MPs met, into the huge banquet hall where Henry 8th played tennis, and even to the queen's robing room. We marvelled at her golden throne and the sheer size of the buildings.

After our tour we took part in a workshop looking at how parliament made laws.

we were very ready for our picnic in the park in the end! Then off to see the sights including the London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, ,10 Downing St, Horseguards Parade and Trafalgar Square. Phew, in that heat that was quite a feat.

The children had a brilliant experience and coped very well with the noise and crowds, but most decided they wouldn't want to live there. They were a pleasure to take out. Thanks to all the adults who accompanied the trip, we couldn't have done so much without you !
