Curriculum Guidance and Support
Our schools recognise the importance of a flexible and reflective curriculum which is adapted to meet the needs and interests of our pupils. In enabling such a curriculum we acknowledge the importance of shared ownership between staff, children, parents and our community, encouraging active participation by all.
Our aim is to teach children how to be responsible individuals who can work and co-operate with others whilst developing knowledge and skills that will equip them for life-long learning.
Through a creative curriculum, pupils are encouraged to develop an inquiring mind, investigating and discovering new knowledge, skills and talents for themselves. Much of our learning takes place in the outdoor environment, where children are encouraged and inspired to grow in confidence, self-esteem and independence. Every opportunity is taken to work in close partnership with parents and our wider community, creating real purpose to the learning opportunities and experiences we share. Wider opportunities are also available for children to participate in ECO and School Council initiatives, sports activities and a range of extra curricula clubs.
