Assessment and the National Curriculum

Since September 2014, the new National Curriculum (NC) has been implemented in all maintained primary and secondary schools. As part of the changes to the curriculum, the previous system of ‘levels’ for reporting children’s attainment and progress was also removed.

The programmes of study within the new NC set high expectations to be achieved by the end of each key stage. These end of year / key stage expectations can be found on the DfE website. Click here for info.

Our school Assessment Policy can be found below along with our assessment checklists for each year group. These will support parents to understand the expectations of each year group in Reading, Writing and Maths.
