News and Christmas greetings from Bentley

Well what a busy and rather festive week we have had.

Thank you to everyone for your support this week during a challenging time for all in our communities. We hope you all manage to get plenty of rest over the Christmas period and where possible can catch up with family and friends in a safe way. Staff are certainly ready for a rest and some downtime to recharge.

Thank you to those of you who were able to join us for our Nativity and Christmas singing this week. The children did a wonderful job (as they always do) and made us all feel a little 'fuzzy' as we watched them shine!

Learners of the week - Faith, Nina, Frankie, Angus, Philippa and Darcy

Keep that reading going to get a sticker for anyone who does 5 reads over the Christmas holidays!

PTA Update

A huge festive thank you to our PTA who have excelled once again this year, despite the ongoing challenges.
We are absolutely delighted to announce our Christmas events, including Santa's grotto, the online Christmas fayre and the Lapland walk have raised an incredible £1202!! The children also raised £300.
A huge thank you to all who volunteered and worked so hard, especially Santa's elves! A very special thank you to Sue and Spike for their amazing hampers, they have raised an astounding amount! And a massive thank you to the children, parents and staff for supporting everything we have done this year.

Our AGM will be held on Thursday 13th January. All invited to join us to hear what's been raised and how the money has made a difference to the children. 2.30pm in the school hall (If this changes, a virtual link will be sent out)

The PTA would like to wish you all a very merry, healthy Christmas.

Online Safety

With Christmas around the corner, we thought it would be timely to support you in ensuring any new (or old) devices are set up to ensure children are safe if accessing online sites. Please see the attached link to support you in checking devices https://parentzone.org.uk/article/getting-tech-ready-christmas

You may have heard about the recent Online Safety Bill report from Dame Rachel de Souza, 'The Things I Wish My Parents Had Known'. It details important guidance for parents to consider when discussing issues around sexualised bullying and the pressures of growing up online. The key message is talk early, talk often.

Queen's Jubilee

Advance notice -  Schools have been given some discretion as to when to take the bank holiday for the Queen's jubilee as it falls in the school half term. We have consulted with our local primary schools and made the decision to finish school a day earlier in July. Therefore our last day of the summer term will be Wednesday 20th July.

Wishing you all some festive fun!
