Copdock Weekly Update 18/06/2021

Get Set Tokyo
As we start to get excited about the upcoming Olympic games, we'd love the children to get involved with Get Set Tokyo.  They will need to follow this link and enter IP8 3HY in the postcode, then their class in order to record their activity.  Please see the attached flyer for more details.  We have already won some prizes and would love to win some more.  As you would have heard in our sharing assembly today, Foxes have made it to Tokyo!  Who will be next?

Sports Day Lunch
Whilst we are unable to invite families to stay for a picnic on Sports Day, we are still offering our pupils a special lunch option.  You will need to order by Tuesday 22nd as the kitchen need to know numbers.  There will be no hot option available on that day, and anyone who hasn't pre-ordered will need to bring a packed lunch from home.  KS1 lunches are provided as part of the UIFSM programme, KS2 lunches will be charged at the usual £2.40 - please send it in, in a NAMED envelope.  The options available to pre-order are a cheese OR ham wrap, this will come with fruit, popcorn, cucumber and carrot sticks and cake.  Allergen aware wrap options will be catered for.  Please can EVERYONE reply, even if you will be providing a packed lunch from home.  The link to make your response is Sports Day Lunch and a huge thank you to everyone who has already submitted their option.

Menu Change - Monday
Please note, for one week only, the alternative option on Monday will be cheese & tomato quiche with wedges instead of jacket potatoes.  Apologies for any inconvenience.  As notified previously, there have been a few changes to the menu, a revised version is attached and has been put on the website.  Please ensure that those children in KS2 who pay for their meals send in £2.40 per meal in a NAMED envelope.  From next week, anyone with 5 outstanding meals will be unable to order another until they have been paid for.

New Website - Get the App
The eagle-eyed among you will have noticed that our website has undergone a re-design.  We hope you like the new format and will find it easy to navigate.  This is a great opportunity to encourage you to download the app if you haven't already done so.  As you can imagine, we will become more and more reliant on the website as a form of communication between school and home, and the app means you will receive notifications faster about all sorts of things, including upcoming events such as parents' consultations and so on.  Please see the attached leaflet for more information.

PGL Update - Forms Deadline
Thank you to those parents who joined Mrs Windmill for her PGL chat this week.  We hope you found it useful.  As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please email into the office and we will do our best to address them.  If you haven't already, please ensure the forms sent out last week are completed and returned by the deadline on Monday!

This Week
This week there has been lots of singing heard from our school.  On Tuesday, all the children took part in THE BIG SING.  Performances can be viewed via the following links for Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1.  If you have yet to make a donation to 'Place to Be' it's not too late, please send it into the office in a labelled envelope.  On Thursday this week, key stage 2 children had a visit from Group A, part of Britten Pears Art who did some singing in the playground which many parents enjoyed as they waited for their child at the end of the day.  Year 4s have had a busy week practicing their times tables.  Whilst Squirrels have been doing some sterling work in DT lessons - look out for the photos in half termly news!

Thank Yous
Thank you so much to those people who were able to donate suitcases to us.  We have now received enough to move to the next stage of the project and no longer require any more.  A big thank you also to you for your cooperation on Wednesday collection, as you will have noticed, we've had lines painted on the playground and we are really pleased with them.

Uniform
The school uniform order has arrived in the office.  This will be quarantined over the weekend and distributed next week.  New starters can collect theirs when they come in for their picnic on 5th July.
