Copdock Weekly Update 25/03/2022

Federation Review

In the last couple of weeks, we have been reflecting with staff and pupils on the key experiences we have missed due to the pandemic.  We have explored what they remembered about our previous experiences of working together, and what they would like to be planned going forwards.  We are keen to rebuild and enhance our opportunities for partnership working across our schools, enabling children, parents, staff and governors to experience the many positives collaboration brings.  As part of our review, it is important that we gather the views of all members of our school community, so we can decide some key actions to help us get partnership working back on track.  On Monday we will be sending out a short online questionnaire for parents to share their views.  Please take a few moments to consider the questions so we can consider your views too.

Go Purple Day

A big thank you to everyone for supporting our Go Purple Day to raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy Action.  We have raised £65.75 including selling off cakes in the playground after school!

2nd Hand Uniform

If any KS2 children have outgrown their uniform, we would welcome donations to our 2nd hand uniform bank please.

Parent Consultations

Thank you to all those who have booked an appointment for your parent consultations.  If you have yet to do so, the slots close on Monday morning so log into the website now to book your slot.  If you are unable to make any of the times available, please do let us know.

Cross-Country

On Wednesday 30th we have children from KS2 participating in the Cross-Country at Royal Hospital School.  Participants need to be collected from school and taken to RHS for 1:15pm, all participants will need collecting from RHS at around 4:15pm - parents are welcome to stay and support the children.  Thank you to our marshall volunteers who are making this possible, and to the parents who have offered and arranged transport to reduce the number of vehicles attending.  Participants will need to wear PE kits and trainers.  They are able to have a hot dinner beforehand.  Please ensure they have drinks and snacks, and something warm to put on as they will be waiting in between their race times, when they too can support their fellow runners.

KS1 Trip

As per the letter emailed home last week via the website, KS1 children will be going on an exciting trip on Thursday 31st to Colchester Castle.  Children need to wear school uniform and comfortable footwear.  They will also need a waterproof coat, a packed lunch and a drink with them.  They will be leaving school after registration and returning before the end of the school day, traffic allowing.

Bingo

Next Saturday sees the return of Chocolate Bingo!!!  The PTA have asked us to request any donations of cakes for the event please.  If any cakes could be delivered to school on Friday, that would be fantastic.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Easter

Don't forget we have our Easter service coming up in a couple of weeks.  ALL children will need to be collected from the church.  Please let us know if your child will be attending after school club that day and we will arrange for them to be brought back to school.  Hopefully you have already started planning your amazing Easter bonnet creations for our parade at the service!
