Copdock Weekly Update 24/09/2021

Data Forms & Photo Permissions

We would just like to clarify some details regarding photo permissions.  We often use photographs in school for displays and curriculum activities.  We take photos of events taking place in school like sports day and Christmas plays - this is what you are agreeing to by saying 'yes' in section 1.

If you do not want your child(ren)'s photograph used in media, such as the website, Facebook etc, please indicate this in section 2 of the form.  If you are happy for use on the website but not Facebook, please delete as applicable.

If there is anything specific you wish to opt out from please feel free to write this on the form.  We apologise for the confusion, we will be looking to reword our form in future.

100 Club

Thank you to everyone who has sent in their forms already.  We currently have 51 entries making the prize money each month of 1st £12, 2nd £8 and 3rd £5.  You still have time to join in.  Send all forms to school by Thursday 30th September to increase this prize pot and be in with a chance of winning it!

MacMillan Event

A big thank you to everyone who sent in their pennies to cover the cupcakes, and the 50pences for cakes, also to the KS2 parents who came into school (and those who joined us online) for our MacMillan event this afternoon.  Initial indications show we have raised over £70 for this charity - thank you for your generosity - we'll confirm the total next week.

Harvest Festival

Unfortunately we are unable to hold our harvest festival at the church this year.  We will therefore have our service in the school hall on Thursday 7th October from 2:45pm.  KS1 parents are invited to join us but please ensure you let us know in advance if you intend to come along as we need to monitor numbers.

Working Party

As mentioned in last week's newsletter, we are holding a working party on site on Saturday 2nd October.  Please see the email sent earlier in the week for more details.  If you are able to come along and lend a hand please let us know.

Start Times

Just as a reminder now that our routines are settling in, the school gates open at 8:40am when children are welcomed onto the playground.  The school bell rings at 8:45am when the children make their way to class.  Anybody arriving at school between 8:45 and 8:55am will be classed as late.  Arrival after 8:55am will be logged as unauthorised.  If you arrive at school after the gate has been closed, the children MUST report to the school office to ensure their attendance on site is noted.

Home School Agreement

If you haven't already done so, please follow the link https://forms.office.com/r/gSm96QJRcX to confirm you and your child(ren) have read and understood the Home School Agreement, this was requested as homework for all pupils a couple of weeks ago.  Please let us know if you need a hardcopy of the agreement to share with your child(ren).

After School Clubs

We are currently running a football club on Mondays for KS1.  We are opening it up to year 3 pupils in an attempt to increase numbers.  There are 4 more weeks remaining if anyone else would like to join.  Please scan the QR code on the poster attached if you would like to register.

We have the opportunity to possibly run a ballroom dancing after school club in the future.  We are able to offer a taster session to gauge interest.  If your child would be interested in the taster session with a view to a club running, please let the office know.  If sufficient numbers, we will arrange the taster session.
