Copdock Weekly Update 17/01/2020

Newsletter – 17th January 2020

THIS WEEK:

Movie Lunch:  Yesterday the children enjoyed a Movie themed lunch.  The take up for this special menu was quite low.  Whilst we appreciate ordering in advance can put some people off, unfortunately it is the only way for the kitchen to cater for variations to the menu.  We would welcome feedback regarding special menus and future participation in them.

Please see below the words that have been selected for your class this week.  Please use them where possible:

NEXT WEEK:

After School Club:  The Monday after school club will continue as planned on Mondays up to half term.  Thank you for your responses this week with our questions about the possibility of changing days.

1960s Dress-Up:  KS1 children are invited to come in on Tuesday dressed in 1960s style clothing.  For those children who do not wish to participate in the dressing up, please wear school uniform.

OTHER ITEMS:

  • Tomorrow sees the launch of the tokens in The East Anglian Daily Times and Evening Star for the “PLANT TO PLATE” campaign.  Please collect tokens and send them into school.  They will be published throughout the term.
  • Please note that the SPELLING SHED PASSWORDS have been changed today for Woodpeckers.  Their new passwords will be in the front of their Rhino/Diary.  Their weekly spellings are available on Spelling Shed.
  • Please see the documents attached to this week’s newsletter email regarding HANDWRITING.  They outline what is taught when and expectations across both home and school, particularly in EYs and KS1.
  • For those children in FOXES who leave the premises at the END OF THE DAY without an adult, please ensure the school know of this arrangement, and that your child, the ASC (where appropriate) AND the school staff are made aware of any change in arrangements.  Whilst we encourage independence, the safety of the children is of utmost importance.  Following several concerns raise, please also remind them of the safe and sensible way to cross roads, should they need to.  We will, of course, reinforce this in school.
  • Here’s a heads up for some dates coming up in February.  The first Friday back after half term (28th Feb) will be our SHARED LEARNING session, just prior to that will be a COFFEE & CHAT session.  On that Saturday (29th Feb) will be an opportunity for you to find out more about the LOCAL PLAN and proposed developments in the area.
