Copdock Weekly Update 13/12/19

Newsletter – 13th December 2019

THIS WEEK:

Christmas Cake Club:  14 Cakes were made this year – see how brilliant they look on the half termly newsletter next week.  Another was raffled off at the KS2 performance this week, and there will be an opportunity at the KS1 performance on Monday to win another.

KS2 Performances:  Despite some technical issues, the KS2 children performed brilliantly and thoroughly enjoyed sharing their songs with families and friends.  The KS2 Christmas Cake raffle was won by Louise Moxon – congratulations!

Flu Immunisations:  The children receiving their nasal flu immunisation did really well.  If you had not given nor withdrawn consent via the portal, a letter should have come home with your child detailing some “mop-up” sessions where you can take your child to receive the immunisation.

Christmas Market & Fayre:  The children and staff all look fabulous today dressed in Victorian clothing.  The playground looks amazing and hopefully the rain will stay away.  As this is sent to you, the fayre is in full swing.

NEXT WEEK:

KS1 Performance:  KS1 have been practicing ahead of their play on Monday – “Not Such a Silent Night” is set to entertain you.  Don’t forget your ticket as entry is restricted to ticket-holders only.  Please bring along some pennies to enter the raffle for a Christmas Cake – tickets are £1 per strip of 5.  Good luck.

Christmas Lunch:  On Tuesday those children who have pre-ordered will be able to enjoy Christmas Lunch.  For those who haven’t ordered, please remember your packed lunch as you will not be able to order a hot meal on the day.

Singing at The Lodge:  The children from year 2 to 6 will be walking to The Lodge on Wednesday to sing for the residents.  Please ensure the children have a warm coat with them.

Last Day of Term:  Thursday is the last day of term!  The children are welcome to come into school in festive dress – they do not need to wear uniform.  Look out for the Half Termly Newsletter to fill you in on everything that has been happening since half term, and a hint of what’s to come in the Spring Term.  January 6th is a PD day so pupils return to school on Tuesday 7th January at 8:50am!

OTHER ITEMS:

  • Please ensure all DINNER MONIES are paid up to date before the end of term ahead of our new routine!
  • MRS NORTH makes a welcome return alongside Mrs Collins towards the end of next week in preparation for her return to class in the spring.  At which point we bid a fond farewell to Mr Collins, who we’ll see again soon.
  • As per our policy, please ensure you collect any MEDICATION from the office before the end of term, and any inhalers/epi-pens from classrooms on Thursday as we do not hold them in school over the holidays.
  • Please ensure you regularly check your child’s hair for HEAD LICE as we have had a recent out-break in KS2.
