Copdock Weekly Update 13/05/2022

SATS Week

A huge well done to all of our Foxes for completing their assessments this week - the cheer after the final paper was completed was heard throughout the school!  Everyone applied themselves really well.  Adders class joined them today to let off some steam with some healthy competition on the rounders field!

New Parent Induction

This week we were able to welcome our new families into school as part of the induction process for our new starters from September.  Over the next couple of months the new children will begin to come into school to join us for a Teddy Bear's Picnic and then some classroom sessions.

Walk to School Week

Next week is Walk to School Week and the children will be completing activities in class and linking the activity of walking to positive mental health.  We will also be running the Walking Bus each day next week.  Please can children and adults meet at the memorial, opposite the bus stop, as a starting place.  Mrs Collins (Mon-Wed) and Mrs Knights will be leading the bus and any other adult helpers would be much appreciated.  We will leave at 8:30am prompt.  When we arrive at school each child will receive a special sticker.

SEND Coffee & Chat

Mrs North has now assumed her new role as SENDCo across the Federation.  She's made contact with families of our SEND children to invite them along for a coffee and a chat next week.  Details as per the email.

PTA Meeting

Next Wednesday evening sees the next PTA meeting.  High on the agenda will be the events for the Jubilee Celebrations.  This meeting will be virtual and will start at 8pm, you can join via TEAMS here.  If you have any ideas or can offer any assistance, please log on and help out - many hands make light work.

Early Assembly

As previously notified, next Friday's Family Sharing Assembly will take place at 9am rather than in the afternoon, as we have other events on.  Parents are welcome to wait after the gate closes - once the children are in the hall we will re-open the gate.  This will be our last Family Sharing Assembly until the middle of June.

Football Tournament

Some of our Foxes class are involved in a 7-a-side football tournament next Friday.  Details have been sent to those participating.  Children will be provided with a kit but they will need plenty of water, shinpads and appropriate footwear.  Please note, the children will be transported to the event, but will not return before the end of the day.  Parents are warmly encouraged to attend the event (details attached).  If you are collecting your child from the event, please let the school office know in advance.  Anyone requiring a lift back to school can be collected from approximately 4:30pm at the gate.

Jubilee Celebrations

It's not long now until our Jubilee Celebrations at the Village Hall.  If you missed the menu deadline today, you will need to send in a packed lunch from home.  Don't forget the Jubilee Tokens need to be purchased either via the website or in cash to the office by next Friday.  One token is needed per child.  For more details please see last week's email with all the information you need on it.  Get your thinking caps on for the Right Royal Bake Off - if you are planning to enter the competition, please let us know so that we have an idea of how many cakes will be available for our refreshment stall.

If you have ordered an additional meal for the Jubilee Lunch, this will need to be paid for in advance, either in cash or via the website.  If you usually pay for a hot school dinner and have ordered a Jubilee Lunch for your child, again, payment will be required prior to the day.  These lunches are charged at £2.50 each.

Woodpeckers Class Request

Please can children bring in any thick cardboard from home (corrugated card) for an upcoming art activity e.g. strong cardboard boxes.  Flat packed as opposed to boxes would be perfect.  Thank you in advance.

Uniform Orders

Please remember to send an order form into the office even if you pay for the uniform via the school website.  The website is literally just a mechanism for cashless payments, it is not part of the ordering process.

Lego Club
