Copdock Weekly Update 10/09/2021

School Photos

Last year's class photos are now available through Bentley Photographic.  As they were taken so late in the term we were unable to publicise prior to the summer holidays.  Bentley Photographic have extended their order deadline to 19th September to take this into account.

End of the Day

Thank you for adopting our slightly adjusted end of day routine.  Please remember to stick to the one-way system - up the ramp, using steps nearest the ramp onto the playgroud, off the playground at the far side and off site via the steps and 'old' gate.  Obviously if you have a buggy, we will make adjustments for you.  If you need to collect from the Foundation/Year 1 playground also, please keep to the one-way system - don't worry, whichever way around you collect the children, we won't release them until we see you.  If you're child is in Foxes and is leaving site without an adult, please notify the office in writing, if you haven't already done so.

PTA 100 Club

We are excited to announce a new and exciting way to raise money for Copdock Primary School.  For a one off £12 payment, not only will you be supporting an extremely good cause, but you will also have a chance to win cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place each month!  See the attached letter for further information or check your child's bag when they get home.  Spread the word but don't delay as the deadline is 30th September!

If you are interested in joining the PTA, keep an eye out on the weekly news for details of the upcoming AGM and take a look at the facebook page for details of events.

Parent Governor Vacancy

We have a new vacancy for a parent governor and would welcome any interested parents to make contact with the school to discuss this further.  Unfortunately, Mrs Louise Moxon has resigned her position due to a change in job and can no longer commit to the role.  Information about the role of a Governor can be found here.  We will be sending out nomination forms soon so please do give it some consideration as it is an important role in supporting our federation leadership.

Home School Agreement

We look forward to seeing you all at our class welcome meetings on Wednesday 15th September.  If you need a reminder about times, see our website letters page here.  Schools and parents have a shared priority and responsibility to help and support their children achieve the very best they can.  Our Home School Agreement highlights the contributions we can all make to ensure this is possible.  It also explains the important role that the children can play too.  Please read this with your child and sign our online form to show your commitment to working in partnership.

Annual Data Collection

Please be aware that we will be sending home our annual data collection forms over the next week or so, these will be accommpanied by some new and revised persmissions forms.  Please ensure they are returned promptly.  It is a statutory requirement that we have this information on file.  We will notify you when they are sent home so you can check in book bags.  Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Sharing Assemblies

As mentioned last week the schedule for our weekly sharing assemblies is attached - this takes us through until February half term.  As previously requested, please let us know if you would like to come into school to join our assemblies in person.  Alternatively, you can join virtually.

Uniform

Please ensure all items of uniform are clearly labelled.  We have had many jumpers and cardigans discarded at break time and left on the field or playground.  These tend to be left on the fence for collection at the end of the day.  It's so much easier to return them if they have got names in.

Parking Survey

Babergh & MidSuffolk District Council have asked us to send you a link to enable you to have your say on a questionnaire about parking across the district, the link is https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/BMSDCparkingstrategy/ should you wish to take part.

Don't forget, every week we add new things to the website - it could be holiday clubs, local clubs, chances to be on telly, open events at high schools etc.  Check in here on a regular basis to make sure you're not missing out.

Learning Behaviours

Each week we choose two children from each class who have demonstrated good learning behaviours within our theme, this week it is about enjoying your learning.  These children get a special certificate in our sharing assembly.  This week's recipients are:

Kittens Finley Freddie
Squirrels Winter Alana
Woodpeckers Poppy Malakai
Foxes Kaitlyn P Benjamin
