Copdock Weekly Update 07/07/17

Dear All

I would like to thank you all for your support and understanding over the last couple of days during our Ofsted inspection as the office staff have been incredibly busy; even more than usual!

Your kind words of support were also gratefully received by all staff.

As the inspection is so close to the end of term, we have been told that the report will not be available until September. This is an incredibly long time to wait for official feedback and unfortunately we are unable to discuss any further knowledge about the process or judgment. However, I am able to confirm that the inspection went as well as could be expected. We look forward to sharing more news in due course.

SESAW Art Competition: Don’t forget the deadline for entries for the art competition is 14th July so you still have a week to get artistic and create an entry – only £1 per picture. Miss Cross is looking forward to collecting them and admiring your hard work.

QuadKids: Last Friday some of Woodpeckers class took part in the year 3/4 Quad Kids event at Inspire in Ipswich. Their running, sprinting, throwing and jumping skills were all tested against those from about 30 other schools. As always they represented the school perfectly and all showed 100% commitment and effort. Well done to Noah, Elliot, Charlie, Logan, Amelia, Zara, Jessica and Zain, our budding athletes of the future. Check out the website for more details and photos. Year 6 Visits this week: Some Year 6 children were invited to visit Suffolk One for a special morning of investigations in the STEM Challenge. The year 6 children then had a day at EBHS as part of their induction process, then returned the following day for a computing taster session.

Maths Bags: Could you please ensure all maths bags are returned to school next week so that they can be checked back into the system before the end of term.

Inductions/Class Swaps: With the year 6 pupils visiting their high schools for the day, everyone else at school went to visit their new class and teacher for the Autumn term. Some will remain in their current classes but have the opportunity to welcome some new faces.

Lashings All Stars Cricket: Copdock Cricket Club invited us along to share in the special events for the opening of their new pavilion. Follow the link to our website to find out more and see lots of pictures of the day:

Bentley PTA Summer Fete: The PTA at Bentley would like to thank everyone who helped, either in the lead up to or on the day, at their summer fete on Saturday. The grand profit raised on the sunny, successful day was a superb £1554.66 which is a brilliant amount! Well done all.
