Copdock Weekly Update 01/04/2022

Parent Consultations

Thank you for attending our parent consultations and helping us to keep to time.  It's great to be able to welcome you back into school to meet with you in person again.

Cross Country

On Wednesday afternoon some of our KS2 children headed to the Royal Hospital School to participate in the Cross Country event along with hundreds of other children from lots of other primary schools in the area.  It was cold and blowy, but everyone did their best and represented the Federation and themselves really well.  Well done everyone.

Colchester Castle Trip

While the snow fell, KS1 children climbed aboard the double-decker for their trip to Colchester Castle to enhance their learning about castles, castle life and the life of Boudicca.  What a fabulous day!

Chocolate Bingo

Don't forget the PTA have organised Chocolate Bingo at school tomorrow from 2-4pm.

KS1 Virtual Bedtime Story

Following the success of the previous bedtime story, and requests for another, we are pleased to announce there will be a virtual bedtime story on Monday evening at 6:30pm for KS1 pupils to enjoy.  Please use this link to join in, ensuring cameras and microphones are off throughout the story.

Tag Rugby

On Tuesday, some of our year 4s are heading to East Bergholt High School to take part in a Tag Rugby event.  The children need to come into school in their PE kits with a snack and water.  They will probably also need a tracksuit to keep them warm.  Please bear with us as they may arrive back a little after 3:15pm depending on the traffic.  Please note, you will have received an email earlier this week if your child is participating.  If you are unsure, please contact the office.

Easter Meal

Next Wednesday the caterers are celebrating Easter with an Easter Meal.  However, the only variation for us, is the dessert!  The menu will be as per the usual week 2 menu, but with something Easter-related for dessert!

Please ensure all dinners for this term are paid for before the end of term.  KS2 children taking hot meals are charged £2.50 per meal - this can be paid by cash, cheque or via the school website.  It can be paid on the day or in advance.  If you think you may be eligible for Free School Meals, please take a look on the website for how to apply.

Easter Service

Don't forget our Easter Service on Thursday.  Families are invited to join us for the service starting at 2:45pm at the church.  Children are invited to bring along their Easter bonnets ready for parading into church.  Please ensure everyone has a coat with them for the walk to church.  Please remember, ALL children will need to be collected from the church at 3:15pm NOT the school.  If your child is attending after school club on Thursday, and you have yet to inform us, please do so and we will ensure they have a lift back to school.

Sharing Assembly

Please note that next week will be the last planned virtual sharing assembly.  After Easter we hope to welcome all parents in who wish to join us for our family sharing assemblies.

Next Friday sees the end of term!  We return to school on Monday 25th April.  Keep an eye out for next week's newsletter for details of a new menu for the Summer Term as well as details of after school clubs.  Please make sure you take a look at the website for details of holiday clubs, events and competitions.  There's also the chance to be on TV!
