PTA Events – 2 exciting events to tell you about; the first is the return of the very popular Mothers’ Day Afternoon Tea. For just £5 per person you can come along and be treated to tea and cakes, with the company of your children. There will be 2 sittings, both on Friday 20th March, the first at 2:00pm (breaking news, this slot has already sold out!) and the second at 3:15pm. This was very popular last year so please see Aimee, the school office or other members of the PTA team for tickets. The second is the return of Movie Night. On Friday 27th March, the PTA will be holding a Movie Night showing the film Toy Story 4. For just £5 per child, they will get drinks, popcorn, pizza, an egg hunt and a chocolate Easter Egg. Again tickets are available from Aimee (Poppy, Hugo and Molly’s Mum) or the school office.
Early Family Assembly 20th March – Due to the PTA Mothers’ Day Afternoon Tea, Family Assembly on Friday 20th March will be at 9:00am.
Parent Questionnaire – Thank you to all those parents who have taken the time to complete the questionnaire already. If you haven’t had a chance so far, please visit https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/7ZBPW9B to complete this quick survey.
Wellies and old clothes Monday and Wednesday – Please could children in any year group bring in old clothes and wellies / old shoes on Monday if they are willing to help shift the soil pile. On Wednesday Reception all need to bring in old clothes and wellies as they will be working on the veggie patch (weather permitting).
Reading Challenge – There has been a definite improvement this week. It is great to see that more children are starting to read regularly and are enjoying it!
Only 1 child in Adders did not achieve 5 reads - Star Class again this week
3 children in Wolves did not achieve 5 reads
8 children in Hedgehogs did not achieve 5 reads
Please record your child’s reads and support them to do as much as possible (older children can record their own reads).
After School Club – This half term the after school club on Tuesdays will be Multi-sports for years R-4. The club will run for five weeks starting next Tuesday 3rd March, 3:15 - 4:15pm. The cost will be just £15 per child. Please email the office if you would like a place for your child.
Forgiveness Home Learning – Our new Collective Worship value this half term is forgiveness. Please follow this link to be taken to an activity sheet on the school website http://www.bentleycopdock.co.uk/uploads/248/files/HomeSchoolValues-FORGIVENESS.pdf
Please encourage your child to complete the challenges and tasks at home.
