Advent Tree Service

Thank you to those who joined us for the Advent Tree Service on Monday.  The school is looking very festive and the children are practicing for their performances.

Nativity - Wolves class

Thank you to some parents who have been helping their child to practise their words every day at home, please could everybody do this as we only have next week to practise and get the play ready.  Word sheets need to be in their bookbags every day.  I have given a new sheet to all of the children who have already lost their words. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.

Tickets have now been allocated and you should have received confirmation of this via email earlier today.

Dinners

Thank you for bearing with us this week whilst the kitchen that usually supplies our hot meals has been out of action.  Unfortunately it looks like the issue will not be resolved this side of Christmas.  They have managed to organise some hot meal options on set days alongside packed lunches in the meantime.  These will still be charged at £2.40 for KS2 children. See next week menu below. We are still workingon Christmas lunch and will update you as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Swimmers

Don't forget shorts and t-shirts for swimming on Monday as well as your usual trunks / costume.

PTA Christmas Fayre

Thank you all for your support in both organising this and joining in the fun. Some draws will take place in our family assembly today at 1.15pm. Other prize winners will be notified next week. An update on our walk to Lapland will also be shared soon. Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed to this.

Homework

Wolves Class - keywords
All children have keyword packets in their bag today to practise at home as often as possible in order to increase the number of words they can sight read without having to sound out.  If your child has to sound them out to read them, that is a good place to start.  Once they can read a word straight off without sounding out, tick the word.  Each word needs 5 ticks to move to the next sheet.  If your child is struggling, just work on the first row and do one row at a time.  Tricky words can't be sounded out, you just have to look and say the word and remember it.  Please have keyword packets in your bookbag every Thursday for testing in school.

Books for School Tokens

Don't forget to keep sending in your tokens from the local press.  We've been informed that there will be 10 bonus tokens on December 3rd & 9th as well as the daily ones.  Tokens will be published during the holidays until 31st December.  We need tokens in to us by 21st January please.  Thank you for your help.
